Born on 4 June 1961 in the village of Ivano Slyusarevka in the Krasnodar region, Sergei Karakaev was admitted as an adult to the Higher Military Command Engineering Institute in Rostov, graduated in 1983 and began working in the Red Army, graduating in 1994 from the Command Department of the Military Academy named after F.E.
