From May 9th to 10th, Liu Ge'an, Secretary of the Zhangjiajie Municipal Party Committee, led a delegation to South Korea, met with Xing Haiming, Chinese Ambassador to South Korea, attended the opening ceremony of the 39th Seoul International Tourism Exhibition and the Zhangjiajie Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference, and visited Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Fu'an County.

Xing Haiming said that Zhangjiajie, as a business card of Chinese tourism, has always been one of the first destinations for Korean tourists to travel to China. It is hoped that Zhangjiajie will continue to give full play to its advantages, further improve the construction of tourism facilities, deepen exchanges and cooperation with the ROK, and promote the continuous development of China-ROK relations and bilateral people-to-people exchanges.
Liu Ge'an introduced the economic and social development of Zhangjiajie and the exchange and cooperation with South Korea, saying that South Korea has always been the largest source of inbound tourists in Zhangjiajie, and will continue to deepen the South Korean tourism market in the future, further improve the brand influence, and make more contributions to the development of China-South Korea relations and the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
On the same day, Liu Ge'an was invited to attend the opening ceremony of the 39th Seoul International Tourism Exhibition and the Zhangjiajie Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference, and Zhang Ruoyu, Director of the China Tourism Office in Seoul, delivered a speech.
Zhang Ruoyu said that Zhangjiajie has unique natural scenery and rich tourism resources, and its popularity is well-known in South Korea, and sending parents to travel to Zhangjiajie is known as a filial piety trip. "The mountains in Zhangjiajie are full of Koreans." That's a recent Chinese social media statement that Zhangjiajie is popular with South Korean tourists. In the first quarter of this year, Zhangjiajie received 261,200 inbound tourists, including 105,100 South Korean tourists, an increase of 367.76 times over the first quarter of 2023, accounting for 40.23% of inbound tourists. The Zhangjiajie delegation participated in the 39th Seoul International Travel Exhibition and held a special promotion meeting, which reflected the great importance that Zhangjiajie attaches to the Korean market. In his speech, Liu Ge'an introduced the beautiful scenery of Zhangjiajie. He said that Zhangjiajie is an emerging tourist city, with 3,000 strange peaks and 800 beautiful waters, which is known as "an expanded bonsai and a shrinking fairyland", and is the open window of Hunan, the welcoming living room, the leader of tourism and the beautiful business card of beautiful China. Since 1999, Zhangjiajie has carried out tourism promotion and marketing activities in South Korea, and has been deeply cultivating the Korean market for more than 20 years, and has established long-term cooperative relations with many tourism companies in South Korea.
Liu Ge'an said that Zhangjiajie will make good use of the international platform of the Seoul International Tourism Exhibition to consolidate and expand the inbound tourism market in South Korea and Southeast Asia, understand the demand of foreign tourists for Zhangjiajie, continuously improve service management, optimize the supply of tourism products, further improve the level of tourism services, and launch the international tourism brand of Zhangjiajie.
On the morning of the 10th, Liu Ge'an and his entourage visited Fu'an County and signed a sister city intention agreement with Fu'an County. In the afternoon of the same day, he also visited Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province to inspect the Jeonbuk Food Industry Cluster Area.
