The sexual taste is spicy, bitter and flat. There is a small poison.

Functional indications for detoxification, loosening knots. For pulmonary tuberculosis, lymph node tuberculosis, lymphadenitis, laryngitis.

The source is the tuber root of the small buttercup plant. It can be harvested throughout the year, and after the roots are dug out, the stems and whisker roots are cut off and dried in the sun.

Original form of small perennial herb. The young plants are sparsely covered with fine grayish-white hairs, which later become bald or slightly hairy. The roots are fleshy, spindle-shaped, and constantly aggregated. The stem is 5 to 15 cm tall and branched; the basal leaves are 3 compound leaves or 3 deep lobes, the small leaves are ovate or broad inverted, 0.5 to 1.5 cm long and 0.5 to 1 cm wide, the apex is 3 shallow fissures or tooth fissures, the basal wedge-shaped, sometimes split into linear or linear lanceolate shapes, the central lobes are slightly larger than the two sides; petioles, the stalk is 3 to 6 cm long, the base is enlarged, and the marginal membranous; the stems and leaves are alternate, usually sessile, 3 lobes, lobed linear, about 1.5 cm long and about 1 mm wide. The flowers are solitary at the end of the stem, opposite the leaves, up to 1.5 cm in diameter, the peduncle is 0.5 to 2 cm long, with short fine hairs: sepals 5, oblong or inverted ovate, membranous, green, pale yellow at the edges, curved downwards, with fine hairs on the outside; petals 5, broad inverted ovate, yellow, glabrous; stamens majority, anthers oblong, longitudinal fissure, flattened filaments; carpels, mostly detached, clustered on the swollen flower holder; stigma short, single. The fruit is spherical; the lean fruit is flattened and ovate, small, light brown on the surface, smooth, with a short beak at the apex. Flowering period is from April to May. The fruiting period is from May to June.

The Habitat Segment grows in grassy areas, roadsides, depressions and hillsides. Distributed in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou and other places. Produced in Henan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangxi and other places.

The dry roots are spindle-shaped, often clustered together, resembling cat's claws, and are about 1 cm long. The surface is yellowish brown or gray-brown, with some whisker root marks, some of which still have whisker root residues; the upper end has yellow-brown stumps or stem marks, solid, cross-sectional yellow-white or yellow-brown, solid or hollow. No breath, slightly sweet taste. Preferably yellowish brown, solid and full of texture is preferred.

Clinical application for the treatment of cervical lymph node tuberculosis: internal administration of cat's claw decoction (or tincture) is the mainstay, supplemented by traditional Chinese medicine to nourish qi and nourish blood, combined with surgical incision and drainage, scratching surgery, local application of various cat's claw preparations, the treatment of simple, mixed infection, ulcer type, fistula type cervical lymph node tuberculosis 180 cases, after 2 to 3 months of treatment, 134 cases of clinical cure, 32 cases of significant effectiveness, 14 cases of improvement. Preparation and usage: (1) Internal medicine: cat's claw 150 grams, add 500 ml of water, simmer for half an hour, before going to bed, rinse yellow wine 2 to 4 two times, 1 dose per day. Or with 25% tincture, take 10 ml 3 times a day. All are treated with 3 days as a course, and the next course of treatment is given at intervals of 3 to 5 days.
