Why was Qu Qiubai, the second supreme leader of the party, arrested? Chiang Kai-shek ordered the execution on the spot
On January 10, 1935, Comrades Xiang Ying and Chen Tanqiuning organized field troops to move to the mountainous areas and persisted in guerrilla struggle. Qu Qiubai, together with Deng Zihui, He Shuheng, and other comrades, arrived at Tangwu, the seat of the Su Wei final government in Fujian Province, and a 25-member secret service company organized by the local government, each of whom took a shell gun and escorted them to the central county party committee of Tinghang.
They walked for four or five days to the Lutan place of Shuikou Wuli Bridge in Guantian District, Changting County, that is, near the Xiaoyi Niuzhuang Ridge, because there were female comrades who were sick and had to carry them, plus the daytime standard was too large, and it was raining heavily, and they did not eat for a day, so they decided to find a place to rest. They walked into a fellow home, just about to cook, when suddenly two gunshots rang out. Qu Qiubai and his party hurriedly waded through the Giethoorn Creek and moved to the mountain.
Zhong Shaokui, commander of the enemy security regiment of The Tang Regiment, received the report and immediately sent four companies of soldiers to surround the mountain. Due to the huge disparity in strength between the enemy and us, the fierce battle lasted for more than half an hour, and most of the comrades escorted were sacrificed. In the end, everyone desperately broke through, He Shuheng, Deng Zihui and other comrades rolled down from the mountain, Comrade He Shuheng was unfortunately shot and killed indiscriminately, and Comrade Deng Zihui escaped danger because he was a local. Qu Qiubai and several other comrades were unfortunately arrested.
That night, the enemy hung up and beat Qu Qiubai and forced him to confess. Qu Qiubai deceived the enemy that his name was Lin Qijiao, and he was locked up in a concentration camp. Later, due to the betrayal of the traitors, the enemy imprisoned Qu Qiubai in the headquarters of the Thirty-sixth Division of Changting Song Xilian. The enemy exhausted all means of threats, inducements, and persuasions, and it was difficult to shake Qu Qiubai's indomitable revolutionary will. Chiang Kai-shek sent spies from Nanjing to Changting to persuade Qu Qiubai to surrender, and Qu Qiubai righteously said sternly: "People love their own history more than birds love their wings, please do not tear my history!" The enemy exhausted all means, and he could not shake Qu Qiubai's revolutionary will in the slightest. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek issued a telegram: Shoot on the spot.
At 8:00 a.m. on June 18, 1935, Qu Qiubai was escorted to Zhongshan Pavilion in Changting Zhongshan Park. He was alone at the time of his execution. The enemy said triumphantly: "If the Communist Party is killed, the 'revolution' will succeed." Qu Qiubai replied with a smile: "Communists cannot be killed." Without the Communist Party, the revolution would not have succeeded! The enemy took a picture of him in the pavilion. After taking the photo, Qu Qiubai sang the international song and the Red Army song and strolled to the execution ground. Walking out of the Changting West Gate and onto a lawn at the foot of LuohanLing Mountain, Qu Qiubai nodded and smiled and said, "This place is very good." A few days before his execution, when a reporter asked Qu Qiubai what his works were, he showed the reporter "Extra Words", which was written on a black cloth exercise book. Subsequently, it was immediately robbed by the person in charge of the detention. After Qu Qiubai was killed, his manuscript of "Superfluous Words" has since sunk into the sea. In October 1935, the secret service publication "Social News" threw out the so-called "selection" and then published the "full text", according to the bottom draft, none of which was Qu Qiubai's handwriting' Manuscript of "Superfluous Words", and the enemy never dared to publish it to the public.
