And US public opinion is even more deliberately associated with China, and some US media even clamor to prepare for "defending Taiwan."
According to media reports, the U.S. military has issued a statement claiming that the New York National Guard has recently conducted multi-day urban warfare training in the city, with officers crossing and flying through New York neighborhoods and learning from New York officials the experience of urban challenges, and they intend to set up a two-week course to simulate military operations in dense complexes and on the streets of traffic. Lieutenant Colonel Higgins, who is in charge of the project, claimed that in the past, the U.S. military chose to bypass the big cities to fight, but now there are too many big cities, and when it is impossible to avoid the city, the U.S. military must learn to fight in the city.
The Los Angeles Times also previously reported that the California National Guard, which specializes in urban warfare training, claimed that this National Guard force may be scheduled to carry out the so-called "all-out war with the People's Liberation Army" in the future. The US media also clamored that in the future, the US military must "defend Taiwan Province of China" and "defend the Philippines" in the western Pacific. Wooldridge, deputy division commander of the California National Guard's 40th Infantry Division, claimed that U.S. forces must train in urban warfare, and that existing training would come into play if cities needed to be "retaken" in the so-called "Indo-Pacific" region in the future.

It can be seen that even if the United States trains urban warfare, its goal is to focus on the Asia-Pacific region. And the United States is trying to strengthen the U.S. military's urban warfare capabilities in a short period of time. In fact, the U.S. military has been implementing the urban warfare program for many years, and since the beginning of the Iraq War, the United States has paid more attention to this issue. In 2008, the U.S. military planned to build 148 urban warfare facilities in five years; in 2014, the United States further targeted super cities with a population of more than 20 million; in 2018, the U.S. think tank claimed that the U.S. military firmly believed that future wars would occur in megacities and listed many Chinese cities as possible targets.

At the same time, the United States has stepped up research and development of modern equipment suitable for urban warfare, including "swarm" technology composed of hundreds of drones, self-destructing short-range bullets that can reduce casualties, as well as automated vehicles and new night vision goggles. The United States is obviously seriously preparing for urban warfare, and judging from the speculation of the US media and the statements of the US military, the purpose of the US training is indeed related to China.
However, the behavior of the United States is still clearly still influenced by the Cold War mentality of the zero-sum game. Moreover, if the United States wants to use this set of means to carry out the so-called "defense of Taiwan" operation, it is simply a fool's dream. The Taiwan issue is China's internal affair and has nothing to do with the United States. The United States is not qualified to interfere, nor is it capable of interfering. Ritter, a former intelligence expert of the US military, has clearly pointed out that if Chinese mainland decides to "unify militarily," the US intervention will be meaningless. Ritter believes that China's peaceful reunification is also the best outcome for the United States.
