The first panoramic presentation in China
Log in to UCCA Edge in Jing'an District

The exhibition features nearly 400 works from the andy Warhol Art Gallery's collection in Pittsburgh, including photographic and documentary objects that were first exhibited outside the Andy Warhol Museum, with a special focus on Andy Warhol's artistic practice as a photographer and experimental filmmaker.
"Becoming Andy Warhol" re-examines the extensive documentary materials and artistic heritage related to Warhol, and through the presentation of representative and not widely known works at various stages of Warhol's artistic career, the exhibition fully demonstrates the profound impact of Warhol's diversified cross-border practice and "reproduction" creation method on the development of visual arts.
It is divided into five chapters
It is also specially set
"Pop Factory" interactive experience area
Through paintings, photographs, objects, films, documentary objects from Warhol's youth, and photographs of Warhol taken at the same time as Steven Shore and David McCabe, the exhibition offers a non-linear exploration of Warhol's life and career.
Through Warhol's early paintings and documentary photographs, the chapter introduces the artist's early life as an immigrant in Pittsburgh's working-class community, the influence of Warhol's intimate relationship with his mother, Julia Warhola, and the creative co-creation of mother and son.
This chapter also shows Warhol's successful involvement in commercial art while working for fashion brands and department stores, and the earliest pop paintings created during this period. For the first time, the exhibition will feature recreated physical and historical photographs of warhol's window designed for a department store during this period.
The "Cinema as Objects" section presents experimental films made by Warhol in the "Factory" studio in the 60s and 70s, following the success of Pop Art, in which many of the people who appeared became superstars. These films usually need to be shown in a separate theater, but in this exhibition, the audience can freely view the open space set up in the double-storey high area of the exhibition hall. There are more than 24 remakes of films, including the rare "Audition" series, the iconic Empire State Building (1964), previously rarely shown 16mm film films, and TV shows from the 1980s.
The "Immaterial" chapter explores Warhol's struggle with spirituality as he enters the final stages of his life, and demonstrates Warhol's creative practice of transitioning to abstract and conceptual art through the "Camouflage" (1986) and "Rorschach Ink Test" (1984) series of works. This chapter also features several of Warhol's self-portraits from the late 1970s and the "Myths" series (1981) created in the early 1980s.
In addition, the exhibition also set up a special interactive experience area of "Pop Factory". Inspired by Warhol's "Silver Factory", which combines the dual attributes of a studio and a meeting place for friends, the "Pop Factory" can be used to take photos on the red sofa imitating the superstars of the "Factory" studio.
