In the end, the courtiers who came to persuade zhao shu lifted zhao shu from the bed pretending to be sick and forcibly sent him to the palace, and Zhao Shu agreed to be the prince.
Despite this, before Zhao Shu left, he also instructed his subordinates to let them take good care of their houses, and wait for one day if the emperor had a son again, he would come back again.

In the eighth year of Jiayou, that is, in the third month of the lunar calendar in 1063 AD, Song Renzong died, and then Empress Cao issued a will to let Zhao Shu succeed to the emperor's throne, thus beginning the short six-year reign of Song Yingzong.
