Eva Mendes (born March 15, 1974 in Miami) is an American film actress.
When she first entered Hollywood, she played several small roles in some films, but she was still unknown. It wasn't until 2001 that she starred as Denzel Washington's wife in the film Training Day.
In 2003, she played a commissioner in Robert Rodriguez's Once Upon a Time in Mexico, an undercover cop in John Hilton's Fast and Furious 2, April Mercedes in Ferrari Baross' Close Brothers, and Carl Franklin's Time Hunt.
In 2005, she starred with Will Smith in the romantic light comedy Enemy of the Nation. That same year, she also starred in Chariot of Souls with Nicolas Cage, which was released in 2007. Also released in the same year was "We Have The Night" starring Jacqueline Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg, and "The Murder Cleaner" with Samuel Jackson and Ed Harris.
In 2008, Eva collaborated with actresses such as Meg Ryan and Annette Benin on the comedy "Women", which explored the psychology of high-society women, and played a role in Frank Miller's directorial work Ghost.
In 2009, she joined Werner Herzog's Bad Lieutenant, again teaming up with Nicholas Cage.
In 2010, Eva Mendes starred in the film One Night's Obsession, which tells the story of a young couple who encounter an irresistible temptation to derail on different nights.
