Lu Lun (739–799), courtesy name Yunyan, was a native of Pu County, Hezhong (present-day Pu County, Shanxi), whose ancestral home was Fanyang Zhuo County (present-day Zhuozhou, Hebei), was born in the fourth house of the Northern Ancestor of the Lu clan of Fanyang, and was a descendant of Lu Shangzhi, the Assassin of Northern Wei Andyū Prefecture and the Grand Master of Guanglu, a poet and Confucian scholar of the Tang Dynasty, and one of the Ten Talents of the Great Calendar.
