Lu Lun's poem is mainly about an ancient soldier who had to retire from the army because of his injuries and illness, first look at the first two sentences, many of them are sick and have no food, and they have not returned to their hometowns. These two sentences are to say: This soldier had to retire from the army and return to his hometown because he was injured on the battlefield and suffered from illness, but in the process of returning to his hometown, he was penniless, not even food, and could only go hungry, and when he remembered his hometown, he was thousands of miles away!

These two sentences say that this soldier is disheveled and looks gaunt, because he is hungry and rushing to the road, he really can't walk, he can only sit on the edge of the city wall to rest, and a painful moan is emitted from his mouth, because the autumn wind blows, the cold wind blows into the wounds that have not healed, and the wounds on his body feel gusts of pain, which makes him unbearable!
After reading these four poems, many people can see that the situation of this soldier in the poet's pen can be described in one word - tragic, first of all, he was wounded and sick on the battlefield and had to leave the army to return to his hometown, it is reasonable to be able to go home from the battlefield and reunite with his relatives, but unfortunately he can only go home hungry!
It can be seen from this that when he left the army, the army did not give him any entanglement, and even did not provide dry food on the way home, he fought for the country on the battlefield, nine deaths, many physical injuries, for such a person, the state did not have any rewards, when he left the army to return to his hometown did not even provide a little entanglement!
It can be seen how cold the imperial court at that time was treating these soldiers who served the country, and this soldier was on the way home, because he was hungry and could not continue to rush, he originally wanted to rest under the city wall, but as a result, there was a cold autumn wind, and the autumn wind blew into the wounds of the soldier's body, and the pain was unbearable, making him make a sound of pain, how desolate the situation was!
We have seen many works by Tang Dynasty poets, and many poets have focused their attention on those who are working for the masses, as well as on the people who are squeezed by the government and suffer from hard labor, saying how miserable their lives are, but few people focus on those ordinary soldiers who are fighting for the imperial court in the south and the north!
Just like this miserable soldier written by Lu Lun, he was already very lucky compared to many soldiers who died in battle, wrapped their bodies in ma ge, and sacrificed their lives for the country, at least he survived from the battlefield, but he did not receive a heavy reward from the imperial court after he survived, and the imperial court did not have any indication of his merits in his nine deaths!
When he left the army and returned home, the imperial court did not have any expression, how could it not make this ordinary soldier who fought for the country and was scarred feel cold, the poet looked at this scarred soldier, watched him hungry, endured the pain of his body, and returned to his hometown desolately, so he wrote this poem with great effort!
Many famous generals of the Tang Dynasty have been able to enjoy endless glory and wealth by virtue of one battle after another, but who knows the names of ordinary soldiers who died, and who knows the tragic situation of ordinary soldiers who have to leave the army because of physical injuries in the war!
The harm caused by ancient wars to ordinary people is serious, because the common people have to bear serious servitude, and the common people even lose their homes and sell their children and daughters for this, but at the same time, it is not a deep injury to those ordinary soldiers who go to the battlefield, they kill bravely on the battlefield, they are scarred, and they die nine times but they do not get the rewards and pensions of the imperial court.
