A few days ago, the Zhanjiang Inspection and Quarantine Bureau detected a quarantine pest - the ocean rump whitefly, which was identified as the first detection at zhanjiang port.

It is reported that the pest was found by the inspection and quarantine staff from the cherries in the luggage of a Chinese passenger during the inspection of the cargo of the inbound passengers on flight JD418 from Thailand. The Zhanjiang Bureau has destroyed the batch of cherimoya in accordance with the regulations.

The ocean rump-like mealybug is a phytosanitary pest that is forbidden to enter China. There are more than 250 kinds of host plants, mainly guava, citrus, longan, cherry, banana, grape, mango, durian, coffee, cocoa, soybeans, corn, potatoes, ornamental flower plants and so on. The inspection and quarantine department reminds the majority of inbound and outbound passengers that they should carefully understand the laws and regulations related to inspection and quarantine before entering the country, and should not carry all kinds of animals and plants and their products that are prohibited from entering the country, so as not to bring unnecessary losses to themselves and local agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery production.
