Text/Plain Girl
Many young literary people enter the Chinese department with the dream of being a writer. However, as soon as they enter the Chinese department, they will find that Chinese department has nothing to do with being a writer. Writing as a discipline is not recognized at all in the current Chinese departments, most Chinese departments do not have literary creation classes, and many Chinese departments do not even have "composition classes".
At present, the teaching system and mechanism of the literature department of Chinese colleges and universities, students are a little knowledge of the history of Tang poetry and Song Ci, linguistics knowledge is loaded, but they cannot read modern works, cannot read contemporary novels, and cannot evaluate the real good or bad of literature.
Ten thousand gold oil, but in fact, it is nothing; after learning a belly slaying dragon, it is called criticism and critical theory, all turn left, big words will be said, but the pen will not write.
It can be seen that our Chinese universities Chinese departments do not train writers, but cultivate experts, scholars, and researchers.

In China, the fundamental reason why colleges and universities do not cultivate "do not cultivate writers" comes from the false concept of "literati mistakenly misunderstanding the country", followed by the prejudice of taking scientific and technological invention and innovation as a productive force, but not taking cultural creation and innovation as a productive force; and whether colleges and universities can cultivate writers (pushing a thousand said, colleges and universities can not cultivate writers, but also can find writers, maintain writers, cultivate works), the history of creative writing in the West in the past hundred years shows that writers can be trained, and 70% of the Pulitzer Prize winners in the United States graduated from the department of creative writing in colleges and universities. 70% of professional screenwriters in the United States come from the creative writing department of colleges and universities, which is proof of this.
The proposal of the strategy of cultural power and the establishment of the strategic position of cultural and creative industries in the national economy urgently need cultural and creative industry talents, which greatly requires universities to have disciplines and this industry to dock and train industrial practitioners. This is an era of technological innovation and cultural creativity: the importance of cultural creative talents and original works cannot be overstated.
At present, the construction of Chinese departments in colleges and universities is extremely unsuitable for this situation.
It is imminent for colleges and universities to Chinese the reform of the education and teaching mechanism system. First, we must separate linguistics from literature, and second, we must separate literature from creative writing. The traditional Chinese department should be divided into three: the department of linguistics, which specializes in teaching Chinese linguistics, linguistics should return to its positioning as a "science" discipline, and linguistics should go out of the Stalinist tradition; the department of literature should be dismantled, mainly based on literary history knowledge, literary theory knowledge and critical practice; and the department of creative writing, with the main goal of cultivating basic practitioners in the creative industry (writers and copywriters).
In order to adapt to the special laws of creative writing education and teaching, the education and teaching of the Department of Creative Writing should establish a research room and creation room system. The leading research team can establish research rooms, such as the novel research room, the film and television research room, the poetry research room, etc., to teach in the research room as a unit, and at the same time to absorb students to participate in the research; the leading creative team can establish a creative room, such as a film and television script creation room, a stage script creation room, a long novel creation room, a poetry creation room, etc., with the creation room as the unit, to carry out teachers, while absorbing students to participate in the creation.
Teachers should sit in shifts. Read with students, collaborate on research, and create with students. Liberal arts teaching should not let ducks go, teachers do not sit in class, do not lead the team, do not teach, it is impossible to say. Many colleges and universities value student classrooms but do not give teachers' offices, which is unreasonable. Teachers do not have an office, not even a space to talk to students, not even a space to study and create in school, how to teach, how to study, how to do? Teachers should be encouraged to form teams to establish research rooms and creation rooms, and research rooms and creative studios should adopt a joint class system of teachers and students. Universities should provide an inclination of office space for creators of new research rooms and creation studios. This kind of research room and creation room can be evaluated every three years and once every three years, but those who do not pass the examination will cut the office and cancel the number.
Since the establishment of the creative writing major, colleges and universities are exploring scientific and reasonable education and teaching models in order to maximize the potential of students' literary creation, so that they can learn well, who will teach, what to teach, and how to teach have become the focus of everyone's attention.
In terms of faculty composition, most foreign colleges and universities adopt the "writer-in-residence" system, inviting well-known writers and critics to share creative experiences with students, and analyze and discuss literary works. Many domestic colleges and universities have also learned from this model, Peking University has Cao Wenxuan and other teachers, Fudan University is led by Wang Anyi, Chen Sihe, etc., Nanjing University invited Su Tong, Bi Feiyu and other visiting professors, and also invited teachers from the Central Academy of Drama and the Shanghai Theater Academy to teach.
In terms of curriculum, some colleges and universities attach importance to improving students' humanistic literacy and literary heritage, and some emphasize the acquisition of professional writing skills. In this regard, Ding Fan, a professor at Nanjing University, believes that there is a tendency to "emphasize technology and light humanities" in the current creative writing curriculum, but in fact, humanistic literacy and literary connotation are the driving force for a writer to go longer. Nowadays, many people who write novels think about film and television pictures while writing, which affects the overall artistic effect. Ge Fei also believes that special attention should be paid to helping students reserve sufficient knowledge, and it is necessary to broaden their horizons by reading the original works of literature, history and philosophy, dabbling in modern linguistics knowledge, and learning foreign languages. In such an information-developed society, the past kind of creation that won by personal experience alone can no longer be copied, and in the final analysis, the most important thing now is to cultivate students to observe and understand society with unique vision and methods.
In teaching practice, most colleges and universities still adopt the traditional teaching model, while the Creative Writing Center of Shanghai University, led by Ge Hongbing, is exploring another educational model, in the classroom of "becoming a writer", teachers and students are no longer a simple relationship of "listening" and "speaking", role play, situational stimulation, creative imitation, etc. more emphasis on interaction and participation.
Some experts also suggested that creative writing can adopt a more flexible educational approach, such as stimulating students' imagination and image thinking ability through study tours, field interviews, awards, etc. In the graduation assessment process, at present, colleges and universities usually submit literary works, and also require students to submit dissertations for comprehensive consideration. If the creative writing profession, a model transplanted from abroad, wants to gain strong vitality in the soil of contemporary Chinese literature, the realization of standardized development may be the first thing to be solved.
China's creative writing, the road to cultivating writers is still groping, and it needs everyone's joint support and efforts.
