At present, 18 of the people involved in the case have been taken compulsory measures in accordance with law.

Since the beginning of this year, the Hangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau's environmental food and drug (forest) department, together with the market supervision department, has started from the epidemic prevention and control work to crack down on smuggled frozen products, aiming at the "cow blind leaves", which are the animal offal ingredients that the public cares about, giving full play to the advantages of the public security organs' position control, and through the work, it has been found that some illegal wholesale traders in Hangzhou have used non-edible substances such as formaldehyde and hanging white blocks to soak and increase weight and bleach beef tripe and cattle blinds to increase sales and enhance visual effects, and in Yuhang Gouzhuang, Xiaoshan Xinnongdu and Xiasha Jiuqiao and other farmers' market stalls are sold to the outside world. After sampling and testing, all the ingredients that the state explicitly prohibited from adding were detected.
According to the clues obtained by the preliminary investigation, the Hangzhou police immediately set up a special team to carry out further investigation and found that these illegal and criminal gangs were well organized and had a clear division of labor, and that the three links of raw material procurement, soaking processing, and wholesale sales were all responsible. After purchasing animal offal frozen products from frozen product markets and other places, the criminal suspects first thawed the frozen animals in hidden locations such as some agricultural settlements in Deqing, Yuhang, and Xiaoshan, and then stewed them with boiling water, and then used non-edible substances such as formaldehyde and hanging white blocks to soak and increase weight and bleach beef belly and cattle blinds, and sold them to the outside world in the early morning of the next day.
At present, the case is still under further investigation, the food involved in the case has been removed from the shelves and sealed, and the food business units involved in the case are investigating and handling.

The use of formaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, caustic soda and other chemical substances to soak and process tripe, beef blinds is an illegal act of adding non-edible substances in the food processing process, suspected of food safety criminal offenses. When buying ingredients such as tripe, beef blinds, and chicken feet, please try to purchase from regular markets, supermarkets and other channels, do not buy from unlicensed vendors such as roadside stalls, and do not covet cheaper ingredients that are too low prices. Avoid picking products with abnormal colors and irritating odors.
