  Is it difficult or not to do anything in the world? For this, it is easy to be difficult; if it is not, it is also difficult to be easy. Is it difficult to learn human beings? If you learn, it is easy to learn, and if you don't learn, it is easy to learn.

  I am stupid (stupid), I do not catch (can't catch up with) people, I am mediocre, I do not arrest people, but I learn it, I do not slacken for a long time, until I have succeeded, and I do not know its faintness and mediocrity. My wisdom, double people, my material sensitivity, double people also; screen abandonment and not use, it is no different from faint and mediocre. The way of the saints was passed on by Lu Ye. However, the use of fainting and cleverness is always there!

  In Shuzhi (a remote place), there are two monks: one is poor and the other is rich. The language of the poor (pronounced "desire") is known to the rich: "What is the South Sea of my desire?" The rich man said, "Why does the Son go where he goes?" "A bottle and a bowl are enough." The rich man said, "I have been trying to buy (hire) a boat for years, but I have not been able to do so." Son what a bully! "The next year, the poor will return from the South China Sea, and tell the rich that the rich are ashamed." When the Western Shu went to the South China Sea, I don't know how many thousands of miles, the monks and the rich can't go, and the poor can't go. Is the determination of man as a monk of Shu despised?

Is there a difference between difficult and easy things? As long as you are willing to do it, then the difficult things become easier; If you don't do it, things that are so easy become difficult. Is there a difference between difficulty and easyness for people to do academics? As long as you are willing to learn, then the difficult learning becomes easy; If you don't learn, so easy learning becomes difficult.

I am stupid and can't catch up with others; I can only be mediocre and can't catch up with others. I am constantly improving myself every day, (which can also be translated as: non-stop learning every day.) When you finish your studies, you don't know that you are stupid and mediocre. I am talented and smart, more than others; The ability is also superior to others, but it does not work hard to play, that is, it is no different from ordinary people. Confucius's learning was ultimately passed down by the less intelligent Zengsan. Is it true that it is so clever and stupid that it is immutable?

There are two monks on the Sichuan border, one of whom is poor and one of whom is wealthy. The poor monk said to the rich monk, "I want to go to the South China Sea, how about it?" and the rich monk said, "What are you going by?" The poor monk said, "All I need is a water bottle and a rice bowl." The rich monk said: "I have been trying to hire a boat to go down the river for several years, but I have not succeeded. The next year, the poor monk returned from the South China Sea and told the rich monk about his visit to the South China Sea. The rich monk's face showed a look of shame.

Sichuan is thousands of miles away from the South China Sea, I don't know how many miles away, rich monks can't reach but poor monks have arrived. If a person aspires to study, is he not as good as the poor monk on the border of Sichuan? Therefore, smart and sensitive, can be relied on but can not be relied on; People who rely on intelligence and agility without studying hard are ruining themselves. Stupidity and mediocrity, which can be limited and cannot be limited; Those who are not limited by their own stupidity and mediocrity and who study tirelessly are able to learn by their own efforts.

  [Meaning] This story tells us that we can only succeed if we set a goal and strive to achieve it. Subjective effort is the key to success or failure. People are determined, things are man-made. People should make long-term aspirations, not always aspire. No matter whether the objective conditions are good or bad, the level of talent lies in subjective efforts.

  Regarding the understanding of "I have one bottle and one bowl is enough" in the text: two "one" characters show that the poor have extremely low material requirements, and one "foot" character reflects his firm confidence in overcoming difficulties, shows the courage of the poor to face difficulties and the firm belief in realizing lofty ideals, as well as the strong will to be fearless and the spirit of daring to practice boldly
