This set of wood-framed leather sofas, which were popular in the 1970s, may show Rong Geng's focus on trends. Its wooden material lines are simple and smooth, and the leather sofa cover is slightly worn and wrinkled, but it still looks atmospheric and calm.

In the "'Rong' Return to Hometown - Dongguan Tibetan Ronggeng Cultural Relics Exhibition", the organizer restored the living room scene of Rong Geng's living room in No. 1, Southeast District, Sun Yat-sen University from 1979 to 1983, and the sofas and coffee tables on the scene were used by Rong Geng before his death.

The photo in the upper left of the sofa is a photo of Rong Geng and his descendants in the living room in 1979; the photo in the upper right is a photo of Rong Geng and his best friend Shang Chengzuo in this scene in his later years, and they were sitting on this sofa.

"There was a time when it was covered with a lace scarf, and I deliberately studied the bottom of it." Rong Guolian is the eldest grandson of the sofa owner Rong Geng, and the last time he saw this group of sofas was more than 40 years ago. When I saw it in the exhibition hall on the second floor of the Keyuan Museum today, the precious memories related to my grandfather all came to my heart.

On the afternoon of August 4th, the organizers of the "Rong Geng and Dongguan" series of exhibition activities invited Rong Pu, Liang Shixiong, Luo Bing, Rong Shan, Rong Guolian and other relatives of Rong Geng to visit the six theme exhibitions exhibited at the Lingnan Art Museum, Keyuan Museum and Rong Geng's former residence, and listen to them talk about Rong Geng outside the exhibition and in life.

Fifth daughter Rong Pu:

What touched me the most was my father's love and thoughts for Dongguan, and he spoke Dongguan dialect before leaving.

I remember the first time I went back to my hometown, when I was about to arrive in Dongguan, we saw the Jin'aozhou Tower, and my father excitedly told me to hurry to the bow of the ship and say, "This is Dongguan, it is the tower of Dongguan!" ”。

I haven't seen many things in this exhibition, and now when I watch it, it's like seeing my father, and it's very kind. I think this exhibition is very good, it is Dongguan's recognition of his father, I hope that through the exhibition, Rong Geng's deeds can be told to today's Dongguan people, so that they love here more.

My father was frugal all his life, but he would support us as long as it was something that fostered our interests and was not a toy. My sister Rong Shan and I have loved to draw since childhood, and my father encouraged our interest and would buy us painting materials, but it was not possible to buy things to play with.

Sixth daughter Rong Shan:

My father was a very upright man, full of righteousness, and taught us to rely on our own abilities and not to rely on others no matter what we did. He is not forced to learn what we like, and is willing to learn what we want, but the tutoring is very strict, and we are not allowed to take a fork in the road or a crooked path.

My father was very patriotic and risked his life to preserve many national cultural relics and donate them all to the country. The money to buy cultural relics is all saved little by little in daily life, and the dishes we drop on the ground must also be picked up and eaten. Buying these things, one is the need for scientific research, and the other is that if you lose them, you can't come back, and you can't let the Japanese take them.

Eldest Grandson Rong Guolian:

What impressed me most was my grandfather's dedication to books.

I remember his study was full of ancient books, and once I asked him, "Have you read all these books?" My grandfather replied humorously, saying that he was reading a book as "slaughtering a pig for meat", which means that as long as there is a piece of "meat" in the book that can be used for himself, no matter the size of the meat, it is worth reading and studying carefully.

My grandfather often taught me to read more books, and I didn't hesitate to buy us books. For example, in the past, on Children's Day, we went to Xinhua Bookstore to buy books, and other people's families bought books for one or two yuan, and my grandfather would give five or six yuan to let us buy books that interested us.
