In 2019, Professor Fan Pengfei and his doctoral students Ma Chi and Chen Yuan were invited by the Jingdong Management and Conservation Bureau of the WuliangShan Ailao Mountain National Nature Reserve in Yunnan to the Dazhaizi Monitoring Station to conduct standardized monitoring training for 30 monitors and villagers in the surrounding areas who had participated in and were interested in participating in the monitoring of the West Black-crowned Gibbon and Gray Langur of the Jingdong Management and Protection Bureau.
The standardized monitoring training laid the foundation for the monitoring and research of the black-crowned gibbon in Wuliangshan, clarified the direction, solved the research bottleneck of the Western Black-crowned Gibbon at that time, and ushered in new hope for the research of the Black-crowned Gibbon in Jingdong Wuliangshan.
