I first heard about Kailash because of the hit movie "Kailash". The pure and deep piety in the eyes of the Tibetans when they turned to Mount Kailash with their old and young people struck their hearts and were shocking, and at the same time, the mount of Kailash, which was hidden in religion, also walked out of Ali in the sky and came to the eyes of the world.
Gam Rinpoche occupies a very sacred position in the hearts of Tibetans, and it is also recognized as the world's first sacred mountain, so why is it Kailash, not the world's first peak Everest, or what other mountain?
First, on the height.
Kailash is 6656 meters above sea level, and the foot of the mountain is 4500 meters above sea level, with an altitude difference of 2100 meters. Such heights and drops are really unattainable on the Tibetan Plateau on the roof of the world.
In its south, separated by dozens of kilometers is the Himalayan mountain system, the peaks are towering over the shores, and Mount Everest is the world's first with unquestionable height.
In the Ali region, the highest peak is Namunani Peak, which is 7694 meters above sea level, which is a full 1000 meters higher than Kailash although it faces Kailash to the north and south.
Even in the Ganges mountain system to which Kailash belongs, it is only second, the highest peak of The Gangis Mountain, LengbuGangri, at an altitude of 7095 meters and a height difference of 2500 meters, which is cold and abrupt among the peaks, like a sword pointing directly at the sky. In terms of height, height difference and appearance, Kailash has no advantage.

Kailash is located in the more desolate Ali region, 1,000 kilometers west of Lhasa in a straight line, a straight-line distance almost equal to the distance from Beijing to Nanjing. The famous Nanga Bawa Peak and Meili Snow Mountain in the east are very close to Lhasa, and Mount Everest, the world's highest peak in southwest Lhasa, is only more than 600 kilometers away from Lhasa. Why do people go to the desolate Ali hinterland to find Kailash?
With these questions in mind, we came to Kailash and followed in the footsteps of the Tibetans, intending to explore the mysteries.
The actual distance from Lhasa to Kailash is 1500 km and takes two days to reach by car. The starting point of the mountain is the town of Tachin at the foot of the mountain, tachin is the base camp of the mountain, starting from the base camp of the mountain, starting from the tachin, with mount Kailash as the center, along the clockwise direction of the temple around the mountain to return to tachin, a total of 48 kilometers. The field circled 360 degrees around Kailash, and the confusion that haunted me gradually unraveled:
Kailash is the birthplace of four rivers. Kailash developed four rivers in the surrounding east, south, west and north directions, and the ancients named these four rivers with four kinds of celestial gods, such as horses, peacocks, elephants and lions, namely the Maquan River, the Peacock River, the Xiangquan River, and the Shiquan River, and these four rivers are the birthplace of famous rivers such as the Brahmaputra River, the Ganges River, and the Indus River.
Rivers nurture the people along their shores and give birth to ancient civilizations and religions.
Among them, the Maquan River flows to the east, the Maquan River is the mother river of Tibet - the source of the Brahmaputra River, the Brahmaputra River flows south through the Himalayas at the great bend, into India is called the Brahmaputra River, the Brahmaputra River is the tea producing area of India, after entering Bangladesh, it is called the Jamuna River, and finally flows into the Bay of Bengal, forming the world's largest alluvial delta; the southward flow is the Peacock River, the Peacock River is the holy river of Hinduism - one of the upper reaches of the Ganges, Ancient Indians believed that The greatest Hindu shiva god lived at the end of the Peacock River on Mount Kailash, the axis of the world.
Another ancient Indian religion, Jainism, believes that Kailash is the land of enlightenment of its founder Daxiong; the xiangquan river that flows westward is the Xiangquan River, and the part that flows downstream into Pakistan is called the Satlayj River, which is a tributary of Pakistan's mother river, the Indus River, while the Shiquan River, which flows north from Kailash, is the source of the Indus River; at the same time, the Shiquan River, which flows westward, is the mother river of the Ali region, giving birth to the ancient Zhang-zhung civilization in the Ali region, and the prince of Zhangxiong, Xin Rao Miwo, founded the indigenous religion of Tibet The Pontifical Sect believes that Kailash is the birthplace of the Bon Sect and the dwelling place of the 360 gods of the Bon Sect.
Therefore, Kailash is also recognized as the center of the world by Hinduism, ancient Jainism, Tibetan Buddhism, and the indigenous Tibetan religion.

In the extremely high mountain peaks known for their high and majestic heights, Kailash Mountain is extremely unique, on the south side of the mountain, a series of horizontal rock formations, just like the stairs leading to the heavenly court, a deep trench from top to bottom through the mountain, hanging on the trench and horizontal rock layers of white snow and black rocks contrast with each other, elegant and dignified; the north side is rarely ice and snow, like a piece of all-over cobblestone, the entire mountain line is clear and thick, the temperament is hard and refreshing, and the tranquility is extraordinary. The huge cross grooves on its mountain have also been revered by various religions as mysterious symbols.

The route around it is clear and obvious, and even those who are new to the mountain are easy to identify. Aside from the distress caused by high reflexes, there are no dangers such as avalanches and large cliffs. Therefore, on the way to the mountain, the local Tibetans dragged their families and mouths, and there was an endless stream, even if ordinary people like us who came to the mountain for the first time, as long as they could overcome the physical discomfort caused by the high reaction, there was no problem in visiting the sacred mountain at 360 degrees.
The road to the mountain is not lonely, accompanied by a layer of snow on the top of the black mountain, black and white elegant snow peaks, there are flowing water, cattle and horses leisurely green river valley, there are mysterious lakes, temples, and pikas that drill in and out of the holes, fight and play, and small birds standing on colorful prayer flags.
Now Kailash, in addition to local Tibetans and mainland tourists, there are also believers and tourists from India, Nepal and other countries and even Europe from South and Southeast Asia to turn the mountain every day. At the foot of the mountain, the town of Tachin is thriving with the arrival of these people.
Kailash of the Ten Thousand Waters Sect, because of the birth of many great rivers that nourish mankind, is worshiped by people with gratitude, which is the internal core of its revered sacred mountain; the huge and concise cross grooves on the graceful and elegant peaks cover it with the cloak of "God"; the safe and approachable route of the mountain can allow more people to see the honor, so that the mountain can become a regular religious ceremony, which closely melts the "god" and "mountain" into one.
