Actor Liu Ye won the crown of best actor of the year in Chinese and American films with the movie "The Island Keeper", and Wu Junru won the best actress of the year with "Mother's Magic Boy". Yu Hewei and Song Jia won the award of the best actor and actress of the year at the China-US TELEVISION Festival for "The Age of Awakening" and "Little Shede" respectively. Zhang Yimou's film "On the Cliff" and Liu Weiqiang's film "Chinese Doctor" were selected as the opening and closing ceremony films of the 17th Sino-US Film Festival, respectively.
