On October 11, east China Normal University-Focus Media "Future Writer" Award announced the results at the award ceremony: Zhang Yiwei won the grand prize with "Family Experiment", and the squid who loved diving won the grand prize with "The Lord of Mystery", and the two shared 100,000 yuan in prizes.
In order to carry forward the literary creation characteristics of the Department of Chinese of East China Normal University and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the school and the department, the China Creative Writing Research Institute of East China Normal University set up the "Future Writers" Award in June this year, aiming to select many of the most promising future writers, including online literature.
Roll out young writers in a wider range of fields
In the "long list" of the awards announced in August this year, Wang Zhanhei, Sun Pin, Zhang Yiwei, Chen Qifan, Wu Daochang, Zheng Zhi, Zhou Kai, Squid who loves diving, Dian, and Durian are afraid of water, ten young writers are on the list, of which nearly half of the "post-90s" are on the list.
At the award ceremony, Xiang Jingxian, vice president of the China Academy of Creative Writing, announced the "short list", and the authors on the list included Sun Pin, Zhang Yiwei, Chen Qifan, Zheng Zhi, and the squid who loves diving. Later, Fang Xiaoyi and Luo Gang, vice presidents of the China Academy of Creative Writing, announced the winners of the "Future Writers" Online Writers Award (Squid Who Loves Diving) and the winners of the "Future Writers" Pure Literary Writers Award (Zhang Yiwei).

Huang Ping, vice president of the China Creative Writing Research Institute, introduced that the selection of the "Future Writers" award is divided into nomination and formal evaluation. The nominated works must be novels, and the writers must be under the age of forty, including online writers. Participating writers are required to have physical books (long stories or collections of short and medium stories) published, and online writers are required to have physical books published or have completed serialization of the main body of representative works on relevant websites, and the publication time is limited to January 1, 2021.

After entering the formal review process, the review committee composed of Sun Ganlu, Zhu Guohua, Li Jingze, Li Er, Chen Xiaoming, Meng Fanhua, Ouyang Quanquan, Yan Jingming and Cheng Yongxin launched two rounds of review of "long list" and "short list". The "long list" selects ten writers, the "short list" selects five writers, and finally in the "short list", one winner is selected according to the field of pure literature and online literature.
Sun Ganlu, president of the China Academy of Creative Writing and a writer who is the convener of the jury of the "Future Writers" Award, said that the upgraded and expanded "Future Writers" awards try to observe, select and introduce outstanding young writers in a wider range of fields. "On the one hand, the selection of 'future literary artists' should synchronize with the times, promote the in-depth development of creative writing education, introduce high-quality literary resources into the scene of literary education, and provide young students with the vision and model of writing." "Don't give up writing"
"'Family Experiment' was the result of my first ten years of writing fiction. I was surprised that it won an award. The name of the "Future Writers" award reminds Zhang Yiwei of the 2017 Harvard University edition of The New History of Modern Chinese Literature, a new literary history that began in 1635 and ended in 2066. It tries to solve the dilemma of time in the writing of modern and contemporary literary history, that is, thirty years of modern literature, even if the time is pulled to the late Qing Dynasty "The Tale of the Flowers on the Sea", it still cannot solve the problem that the history of contemporary literature is getting longer and longer, and every day is expanding, running to the sky for a long time. "Professor Wang Dewei proposed a plan to start modern literature in the late Ming Dynasty and run to the virtual scene of Han Song's science fiction novel "Journey to the West in 2066", that is, when we write literary history, literary history already includes the 'future'."

A new development of "campus literature"
