Peng Dehuai and Zuo Quan are both from Hunan. Peng Dehuai was born in 1898 in Xiangtan, Hunan, and Peng Dehuai was seven years old and born in Liling, Hunan in 1905.
The two did not intersect before, Peng Dehuai joined the army at the age of 18 and trained excellent practical skills on the battlefield. Zuo Quan studied for many years, attended the Frunze Military School, and was also the first cadet of the Whampoa Military Academy, with a large amount of military theoretical knowledge. Because of the same revolutionary concept, they became comrades-in-arms, one article and one weapon, and since then they have become good partners on the battlefield.
In daily life, they also take care of each other, Zuo Quan loves to smoke, and peng Dehuai will stay privately every time he has a good cigarette, secretly giving It to Zuo Quan. Peng Dehuai's stomach was not good, so Zuo Quan deliberately picked up the peppers in the vegetables to eat, leaving the fish meat for Peng Dehuai.
In May 1940, Zuo Quan's daughter was born, and Peng Dehuai and his wife went to visit. Thinking that Zuo Quan's garrison was in the Taibei District of the Taihang Mountains, Peng Dehuai proposed to name the child Zuo Taibei. The name is very meaningful, and Zuo Quan and his wife Liu Zhilan are very satisfied.
When fighting, Zuo Quan was an incomparably strong tough guy, but whenever he faced his wife and daughter, Zuo Quan was extremely tender, especially after having a daughter.
When the child is young, he washes the child's diaper when he is empty. When I am not around, I often miss my children, and I often buy small gifts and entrust them to my daughter. Once, he bought some flower cloth for him, thinking that his wife would make beautiful clothes for his daughter, but he accidentally lost them. In the letter to his wife, when mentioning this matter, he was extremely sorry, writing: "Unfortunately, those few pieces of cloth are still very good-looking, thinking that after you made clothes for Xiao Bei, you could make her beautiful, but they were all thrown away, and it was a pity to think about it."
The happy time did not last long, and when Xiao Bei was two years old, Zuo Quan was sacrificed.
It was 1942, the Japanese army lost in the Battle of the Hundred Regiments, they were ashamed and angry, gathered all their troops, a total of more than 30,000 people, and launched a siege and suppression of the Taihang Mountain area. At that time, our army in the Taihang area had only a total of a few thousand people, and the disparity in strength was so great that it was impossible to confront it head-on.
Faced with a sudden emergency, Peng Dehuai and Zuo Quan discussed overnight and made the following arrangements: Peng Dehuai distracted the enemy's attention, and Zuo Quan led his troops to break through.
The plan went very smoothly, and Zuo Quan led a large army to successfully transfer. The enemy's encirclement and suppression was unsuccessful, and its anger was in a hurry, and its strength was increased.
Seeing this scene, Zuo Quan persuaded Peng Dehuai to move immediately, but Peng Dehuai insisted on fighting. The two actually quarreled over this, and in desperation, Peng Dehuai led his troops to break out, but Zuo Quan was sacrificed.
Many years later, military experts analyzed that the jungle area was complex in terrain and lush with grass and trees, and if the left power could be hidden in time, it would not be sacrificed. It was only because he was afraid that everyone would get lost, he personally commanded, which exposed himself and became the target of the enemy's attack.
Upon learning the news of his friend's sacrifice, Peng Dehuai was distraught and secretly made up his mind to avenge Zuo Quan.
Finally waiting for this opportunity, in December 1942, he learned that the "Mashiko Advance Team" who killed Zuo Quan was going to Qi County to participate in the celebration.
This is a good opportunity, but there are many puppet troops in Qi County, and it is not easy to start. After much thought, Peng Dehuai came up with the perfect plan. First, he selected 30 fighters to form a special unit and trained them rigorously.
On that day, the warriors disguised themselves as civilians, blended into Qi County, and came to the Dexing Restaurant where the devils celebrated. When the devils were full of wine and food and drunk, the warriors moved together and killed them all, avenging Zuo Quan.
In 1948, six years after Zuo Quan's death, Liu Zhilan remarried. Soon after, Liu Zhilan wanted to live with her husband in Baotou, and it was inconvenient to carry her daughter, so she entrusted Zuo Taibei to Peng Dehuai's care. Since then, Peng Dehuai has become Zuo Taibei's dry father, and the little girl often calls him "Peng Daddy".
Under Peng Dehuai's careful care, Zuo Taibei thrived, and a few years later, she was admitted to the Harbin Military Engineering College. Peng Dehuai was quite pleased, and finally had an explanation for his old friend Zuo Quan.
