Qiu Fengjia: Since the day Taiwan was ceded, my sky has lost its moon

author:The wind of freedom

In 1895, with the total destruction of the Beiyang Fleet, which had been painstakingly operated for 7 years, the Sino-Japanese War ended in a crushing defeat for the Qing government, followed by being forced to sign an unequal treaty that humiliated the country.

The content of the treaty proposed by Japan was extremely harsh, and it allowed Li Hongzhang to mediate and strive to alleviate the extortion, and Japan's attitude was extremely tough, and it only replied that "only debate, but cannot be reduced"!

On April 17 (March 23, Guangxu 21), Li Hongzhang signed the Treaty of Maguan with Ito Hirobumi, formally ceding the island of Taiwan to Japan.

Qiu Fengjia: Since the day Taiwan was ceded, my sky has lost its moon

When the news reached Taiwan, the whole island wept bitterly! After the 31-year-old Qiu Fengjia finished crying, he decided to get up, pierced his finger and wrote a bloody letter "Refusing to Defend the Land", calling for an oath to defend the homeland, but finally failed because of "exhaustion of ammunition, heavy casualties".

Qiu Fengjia returned to his ancestral hometown of Zhenping County, Jiaying Prefecture, Guangdong, but he could not forget Taiwan, where Taiwan was haunted by dreams, and gave his son Qiu Chun the nickname "Niantai" and lived in a house called "Niantai Jingshe".

On May 5, 1896 (March 23, 22, Guangxu), Qiu Fengjia, who lived in the "Niantai Jingshe", had mixed feelings and was full of sorrow and indignation, and gave a poem "Spring Sorrow":

Spring sorrow is difficult to send to look at the mountain,

The past is in tears.

Four million people crying in unison,

Last year today's discount Taiwan.

Four million people crying in unison, cutting Taiwan last year today! Qiu Fengjia tears rain Tuotuo! In the same year, Tan Sitong was also full of spring sorrows and composed the next song "A Chapter of Feeling":

There is nothing in the world to reach the spring sorrow,

He cried to the heavens.

Forty million people wept together,

Where is the divine state at the end of the world?

Two years later, on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, looking at the full moon in the sky, Qiu Fengjia burst into tears and wrote "New Year's Eve Without Moon":

One

Spring smoke in the city of lights,

The moon sinks across the sea and the sky.

Seeing that the Six Immortals had tears,

It has been three years since the fall of the sacred mountain!

Second

Three years of this night and moon without light,

The bright moon should be in the hometown.

To seek the moon in the sea and the sky,

Five more flying dreams to cross the Kunyang Ocean.

Since that day, my sky has been without a moon, and there is no moon on New Year's Eve, how sad!

Fourteen years later, 48-year-old Qiu Fengjia died of illness in the "Niantai Jingshe", leaving his last words : "Burial must be southbound, I will not forget Taiwan!" ”
