Traditional Chinese Medicine Science Popularization - Weiling Vegetable and Turning White Grass

author:Old Chen Study

Both the white grass and the consortia are plants of the rosaceae family, much like each other, difficult to distinguish, and folk substitution is common.

A few years ago, when I was interviewing and learning from an old Chinese medicine doctor in his 80s, the old Chinese medicine doctor said that there was white grass in Wanrong County, and he took me to know "turning white grass" in the wild. There are also many folk Chinese medicine practitioners in Vang Vieng County who also believe that the white grass is the plant in today's pictures. But I studied and compared with books such as Flora of China and consulted experts. It was wrong to confirm that the perception at that time was wrong. What folk Chinese medicine practitioners and folks call "turning white grass" is actually a Weiling dish.

Weiling cuisine

Folk people and folk Chinese medicine both say that they know or know about turning white grass, and some people use it; but few people mention Weiling cuisine, and even do not know the name of the plant and Chinese medicine. This phenomenon is not only in Wanrong County, but also in Yuncheng City, many people also have this error, because at the time of the census, there are several counties where the specimens and pictures of the white grass are consistent with the Ones of Wanrong County, which are all Weiling vegetables, rather than the real white grass. And the picture of white grass in the book "Yuncheng Real Estate Chinese Herbal Medicine" is also a Weiling dish. It can be seen that it is not uncommon to mix white grass with Weiling vegetables! (Some people say that it is very common in North China and Northeast China to use Weiling cuisine instead of cabbage)

There are about 80 species of weiling genus in the genus Weiling, and there are only one of them.

Fortunately, both the white herb and the Weiling dish are pharmacopoeia Chinese medicines, and the efficacy is basically the same.

There are many vegetables in the Vang Vieng County Committee, which are widely distributed and grow well individually. Little or no turning over the grass!

Second, the edible value:

Both the white grass and the Weiling dish were first published in the Ming Dynasty Zhou Ding Wang Zhu Xu's compilation of "Saving the Wilderness Materia Medica". In this book, the white grass is called "chicken leg", and the Weiling dish is called "turning cabbage". All the plants that are included in this book can be hungry. (Some are delicious, some are really unpalatable).)

The young stems and leaves and roots of the white grass can be used for daily consumption, blanched in hot water, and then soaked in cool water for half a day to remove the bitter taste, which can be cold mixed, fried, soup, filling, etc. Turned white grass root contains starch, the meat is tender and plump, like chicken or lotus, so it has the nickname of chicken leg and heavenly lotus.

The roots of the vegetative are basically the same as those of the cabbage.

However, they are all hungry things in the famine years, and now it is estimated that no one eats them. Diabetes itself can eat some.
