It is a perennial herb of the rosaceae family Rosaceae. The roots are stout, cylindrical and slightly woody. The flower stems are erect or raised, 20-70 cm tall. The leaves are grassy green. The petals are yellowish or otherwise colored. The flowering period is from April to October.
Habitat distribution:
It grows in hillside meadows, ravines, forest edges, shrublands or sparse forests at altitudes of 400–3200 m.
It is produced in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shandong, Henan, Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Tibet. It is found in the Russian Far East, Japan, and Korea.
Main value: Seed roots can extract quercetin. Whole herbs can be medicated. Young stems and leaves (seedlings) or roots, washed fresh.
