The 2021 Cangjie Ceremony of the 2021 Ugly Year Guyu Sacrifice cangjie was held in Baishui County, Shaanxi Province, the hometown of Cangjie, the "ancestor of characters", with the participation of experts and scholars engaged in the study of Chinese characters and traditional culture, representatives of international friendly people, as well as representatives from academic and cultural circles at home and abroad.
Cangjie, formerly surnamed Hou Gang, is known as Cangsheng. Look up at the curve of kuixing, look down at the traces of birds and beasts, and create words with your fingers, and remove the ugliness of knotted ropes. Legend has it that Cangjie created words and covered the heavens and the earth, and the Yellow Emperor was moved by it, and took "heavenly rain of the valley" as the reward for his character creation, and since then there has been the "valley rain" festival.
At 9:50 a.m., the Cangjie Ceremony of the Valley Rain Sacrifice in the Year of Xin ugly was held, and the specifications and ceremonial links of the sacrifice were held in accordance with the nine regulations of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection List "Guyu Sacrifice Cangjie". Jin sheng zhen, bells and drums chirping in unison; greeting the divine seat, greeting WenZu; Mu Shengguang, serving and laying; offering three animals, five grains and abundance; offering tribute wine, a petal of incense in the heart; worshipping the people, offering flower baskets; praying to the heavens and the earth, reciting the sacrifice text; gratitude virtue, music and dance offerings; meditation, collective worship. All the staff bowed three times to the statue of Cangjie, and the sacrifice ended.
The guests and heads of relevant departments presented flower baskets to Cangjie, the ancestor of Chinese characters. After the event, guests pay homage to the ancestors and visit the ancient temple.
On the same day, the original animation "Learning Chinese Characters with Cangjie" was first released, which was developed by the Chinese Ministry of Education's Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center and the Weinan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, which is mainly an introductory chinese character tutorial for Chinese language learners aged 5 to 12. Bilingual explanations in Chinese and English, with Chinese and English subtitles, provide learning resources for Chinese learners around the world to learn Chinese character culture and Understand Chinese tourism knowledge.
It is reported that the 2021 Cangjie Ceremony of the Valley Rain Sacrifice in the Year of the Ugly Year will last from the 20th to the 24th, and tourists will be organized to carry out the "Cangjie Song, Valley Rain Festival" activity every morning, and the traditional opera exhibition and performance activities will be held in the afternoon.
It is understood that the Guyu sacrifice Cangjie activity in Baishui has continued for thousands of years. Baishui Cangjie Temple is a cangjie memorial site integrating temples, tombs, steles, books and cypresses, and belongs to the national key cultural relics protection unit.
