At 3:28 a.m. today, the famous film performance artist and writer Huang Zongying passed away at the age of 95.
Huang Zongying is an unforgettable "sweet sister" in the Chinese film industry. In 1941, she starred in her first drama "Sweet Sister"; in 1946, she starred in her first film "Chase", and then played important roles in "Rhapsody of Happiness", "Li Ren Xing", "Chicken Singing Early to See the Sky", "Street Alley", "Crows and Sparrows" and other films. In 1954, she created the film script "Ordinary Career"; in 1960, she served as the screenwriter of the feature film "The First Spring of the Sixties"; after 1965, she specialized in literary creation, and won the National Excellent Reportage Award for three consecutive times, authoring the reportage "Big Goose Love", "Beautiful Eyes", "Orange", "Chalet", etc., the essay collection "So I Am Still", "Zen Meditation on The Elderly", and co-authored the reportage collection "For You, My Motherland" with Xu Chi and Xiao Fuxing. He co-authored the reportage collection "A Generation of Tianjiao" with Ding Ling, and published the "Huang Zong English Collection" in 2016.

Bereaved at the age of 9 and dropped out of school at the age of 15, Huang Zongying's most cherished thing is to read books. Whenever she has time, even in between acting waiting, she likes to sit down and learn something. She said that a considerable number of excellent literary works and their characters "have accompanied me through the bumpy and tortuous road of life, urging me to make a small contribution to literature and art."

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Huang Zongying became an early film performance artist who turned to the ranks of professional writers. She believes that a writer should make a sound. Her "Wild Goose Love" called for the implementation of an intellectual policy for an unjustly treated botanist and his rehabilitation. In order to help scientists who study alpine plant ecology realize their dream of establishing an observation station in Tibet, Huang Zongying raised funds and led a team into Tibet three times to help female scientists realize their dreams - the first time she entered Tibet, she wrote the reportage "Log Cabin"; the second year, the second expedition to Tibet, she followed up and filmed the documentary "Log Cabin"; the third time into Tibet, Huang Zongying, who was nearly seventy years old, and scientists visited the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon, and was comatose for two days and two nights due to severe altitude sickness.

In 2016, "Sweet Sister" Huang Zongying's "Huang Zong English Collection" was published by Haitian Publishing House. The anthology consists of four volumes: the first volume, "Survival of the World", about relatives and friends; the second volume, "Little Girl Carrying the Banner", which contains reportage, character close-ups, early film and television scripts, poetry and other works; the third volume, "I Am Blatantly Old", mainly prose works; the fourth volume, "Pure Love", which contains the correspondence between Huang Zongying and Feng Yidai, from February 26 to November 4, 1993.

In 1925, Huang Zongying was born in Beijing, moved to Qingdao with his father at the age of 7, lost his father at the age of 9, and went to Tianjin to join his relatives and enter Shude Primary School. In the early autumn of 1941, Huang Zongying was summoned to Shanghai by his eldest brother Huang Zongjiangxin to work as a miscellaneous worker in the Shanghai professional theater troupe presided over by Huang Zuolin. Soon, she took the stage in the drama "Metamorphosis" and has since stepped onto the stage.

In "Ke Fan Listening", Huang Zongying once recalled: "I don't remember which one went up, when I was stunned, I was pushed out by the stage supervisor, I didn't expect the horn light to be so powerful, the bottom was like a big hole, I was blindfolded." Later, I quickly came out with the first sentence, and I didn't know where to say the second sentence, they all had experience, chased my words back, and I said the third sentence. In the chaos, Huang Zongying stepped down from the stage, thinking that "the drama has disturbed herself", when Huang Zuolin appeared behind her and told her that tomorrow she would perform.
In the Shanghai troupe, 18-year-old Huang Zongying met a young and talented colleague Guo Yuantong, with a different stage name, but the other party suffered from a serious heart attack and died 18 days after marriage, which cast an unforgettable shadow on Huang Zongying's first marriage. In previous interviews, Huang Zongying once said: "On the day of his marriage, he fell ill and helped him get married. The first time I saw people dying, I pushed them into the morgue. ”
The tragedy of the marriage in just 18 days has dealt a heavy blow to Huang Zongying's spirit. Half a year later, she returned to Shanghai from Beijing, and later applied to the North and South Drama Company, starring in many dramas, becoming a popular "sweet sister". Cheng Shuyao, the president of the North and South Drama Society, was very caring for Huang Zongying, and the two married in 1946. This is Huang Zongying's second marriage.
The most successful role is "Zhao Dan's wife"
In the winter of 1946, Huang Zongying starred in the first film "Chase", and since then he has taken to the screen from the stage. Immediately after, she starred in the film "Rhapsody of Happiness", which was a fortuitous opportunity that made her closely linked to Zhao Dan's fate. When the film was almost finished, Zhao Dan and Huang Zongying said: "You should not leave, you should be my wife." The reality of the rhapsody of happiness quietly played. Later, Huang Zongying divorced Cheng Shuyao and came together with Zhao Dan. The two co-starred in works such as "The Crow and the Sparrow", "Beauty Walk", "Nie Er" and so on, of which "The Crow and the Sparrow" is an excellent comedy film.

In 1951, Zhao Dan and Huang Zongying encountered a sudden storm because of the movie "The Legend of Martial Arts". Zhao Dan played the martial arts training, Huang Zongying also played a role, the film tells the poor martial arts, decades of begging and selling art, accumulating donations, organizing the tortuous experience of righteous learning. It was originally released to great acclaim, but in May of that year, it was suddenly characterized as a "reactionary film", and it was met with overwhelming denial and criticism. It was the most difficult time, Huang Zongying said in "Ke Fan Listening": "There are many small quarrels between the two of us, and everyone knows it." But whenever there was a batch of Martial Arts Transmissions, I immediately stood next to him. Every time he was wronged, I would have stood next to him. ”
Her husband, "Adam", is Huang Zongying's most important life partner. In 1980, Zhao Dan died of illness, and the two were dependent on each other for 32 years. No matter what the occasion, as long as Zhao Dan is mentioned, Huang Zongying will say that as long as he lives, Adam will not "die". She once wrote an article called "Obsessed with Twenty Years One Zhao Dan Just to Play Lu Xun", from 1960 to shoot "Lu Xun", "Adam" until the end of his life, still worried about the role of Lu Xun. In "Ke Fan Listens", Huang Zongying said: "If he wants to act, the whole person is like a madman, and the whole person becomes Lu Xun." Go to the clothing warehouse, look around, and wear everything that Lu Xun may wear to himself. He has to act like anything. So at that time, I smoked very fiercely, and I smoked so much that I had to burn my fingers. A few days before his death, "Adam's beard was too late to shave, and people were particularly emaciated, and Huang Zongying felt that "he lay there in his old age, especially like (Lu Xun)." ”
In his later years, Huang Zongying and the essayist and translator Feng Yidai composed a quiet and happy twilight love, but Zhao Dan was always an irreplaceable love of life. "People ask me what roles are you struggling to play in my life?" I said it was difficult for Zhao Dan's wife. What was your most successful role in life? I said the same thing, it was also Zhao Dan's wife. I live and can't let him die. In "Ke Fan Listen", you can hear Huang Zongying say this.
Become an actor who is a writer
Writer is another identity of actor Huang Zongying. In 1952, Huang Zongying was transferred to the Shanghai Institute of Literature and was ordered to change careers to become a screenwriter. Since then, Huang Zongying on the screen has gradually retreated, and Huang Zongying, as the author of the reportage "Chalet", "Big Goose Love" and "No Clouds in the Sky", has become widely known.

Huang Zongying's first script outline was called "Ordinary Career", and she was encouraged by the fact that the script was completed and passed. But then she was not so lucky, she once recalled that she wrote 8 script outlines in 10 months, but they were all killed. Writing a script was too "grinding", fortunately, the leader at the time, Xia Yan, told her that if she could not write a script, she could also produce a few essays or reportages every year. Speaking of this, Huang Zongying was also blunt: "I graduated from junior high school, where do I know what reportage is." It's just that I want to write everything except the script. ”
In 1982, Huang Zongying went to Tibet with a delegation of Chinese writers, and followed the ecologist Xu Fengxiang on a field trip, and finally wrote "Log Cabin" that shocked readers. But it is not easy to write good reportage, and writers must go to the front line of the story to observe and record. In the 1990s, Huang Zongying followed Xu Fengxiang to Tibet for the third time, but the result was severe altitude sickness, which caused great damage to her body. In "Ke Fan Listening", Huang Zongying recalled: "After the lack of oxygen, if I had come back at that time, it would probably not have been so bad." I passed out on May 1 and woke up on May 3, and then I persevered until the great bend in the Brahmaputra Before rushing back with the brigade. For more than 20 days, I have been working with the disease, so the blood vessels have always been badly injured. ”
In his later years, Huang Zongying also had a dream of reportage. "I've long wanted to interview an expert on dung, go to the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, go to his house."

The elderly Huang Zongying has always maintained the lifestyle of an intellectual, "letting his brain move every day", reading, practicing, and sometimes playing the piano. She once said in "Kefan Listening", "I get up in the morning to practice dance, of course, I can't go to the street to dance, but I can practice." I've never felt stuffy, my interest in living is very widespread, and I can't live to live. ”
"The ugly guy is now in the snow. There is no spring warm flower blooming day, and many winds and frosts abuse the day. The screen stage leaves old dreams, and the wasteland polar region continues a new chapter. Zhuangxin did not scatter the dust one by one, and it seemed to swirl around the room a hundred times. In "Ke Fan Listens", the self-narrated poem of "Sweet Sister" is still in the ear.
