As a traditional famous fruit in Yangshuo County, kumquat has been planted for 160 years. In December 2006, "Yangshuo Kumquat" was approved by the former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China to implement the protection of geographical indication products, in January 2009, it was approved by the former State Administration for Industry and Commerce to register the geographical indication certification trademark, in March 2021, it was recommended by the list of intentions for the protection of geographical indications in Russia, in 2021, "Yangshuo Kumquat" was approved as a Guangxi Geographical Indication Application Promotion Project, and in December 2022, Yangshuo County National Kumquat Planting Standardization Demonstration Zone was approved as the 11th batch of National Agricultural Standardization Demonstration Zone projectsIn October 2023, "Yangshuo Kumquat" was selected into the second batch of key contact guidance list for the promotion of the use of geographical indications. By 2023, the annual output of kumquat in Yangshuo County will exceed 506,400 tons, with an output value of 4.6 billion yuan. In 2023, the brand value of "Yangshuo Kumquat" will be 4.302 billion yuan, and the brand strength will be 838, and it has entered the list of the top 100 regional brands of China's brand value evaluation information and geographical indications for four consecutive years.
