At exactly 10:00 a.m., amid the melodious and solemn drum music, the sacrifice team composed of more than 100 people from all walks of life and Xu Heng's descendants gathered in front of the main hall of Xu Wenzheng Ancestral Hall, wearing yellow sacrifice ribbons, wearing a crown, picking up Su Rong, and bowing three times in parallel with incense to pay homage to Xu Heng, the great Confucian of the Yuan Dynasty, and reading the sacrifice text to express their remembrance of Xu Heng, the scene was solemn and solemn, and the momentum was magnificent. It is understood that the Xuheng sacrifice activities are held once a year in spring and autumn. Since 1995, the commemoration of the Great Ceremony of Xu Heng, the Great Confucian of the Yuan Dynasty, has been resumed, and the sacrifice activities are not only the promotion of traditional culture, but also the enrichment and perfection of Xu Heng culture.

Xu Heng (1209-1281), known as the "First Confucian of the Yuan Dynasty", was a famous politician, thinker, educator and astronomer of the Yuan Dynasty. He is an encyclopedic figure recorded in the history of our country. He put forward the political proposition of "practicing the Han Law" to help the ancestors of the Yuan Dynasty establish a way of governance and promote national reunification; advocated Cheng Zhu Lixue, who was the main inheritor and everbright of Cheng Zhu Lixue in the Yuan Dynasty; founded guozi studies, formed an education system, and cultivated a large number of talents; and led the compilation of the "Chronological Calendar," which is the longest-used calendar in China's history and had an international advanced level at that time.

According to historical records, in the thirty-third year of Xu Heng's death, that is, in June of the second year of Huangqing (1313), Emperor Yuanrenzong decreed that Xu Heng and Song Ru Zhou Dunyi, Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi, Zhang Zai, Shao Yong, Sima Guang, Zhu Xi, Zhang Yu, and Lü Zuqian 10 people from the Temple of Confucius, together with the "Most Holy Ancestors and The Table of The Masters of All Ages" Confucius and the sages of the past, were sacrificed in the Spring and Autumn Festival every spring and autumn, and from then on, the people of Xu Heng's hometown paid homage to Xu Heng on the day of the Spring and Autumn Mid-Moon in accordance with the ritual of offering Confucius, remembering the ancestors and inspiring future generations.
