You hear the saying, "Love your neighbor and hate your enemies." "But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for the persecution. Then you may be the Son of your Heavenly Father. For he told the sun to shine on the good and the wicked, and the rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous. What reward will you have if you love only the one who loves you? Isn't that what tax collectors do? If you only ask for the peace of your brother, what is your advantage over others? Isn't that what the Gentiles do? So be perfect, be exactly the same as your Heavenly Father.
