On September 26, 1927, the day after the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army captured Lianhua County, the Committee of Former Enemies of the Autumn Harvest Uprising held a meeting at Binxingguan, Mao Zedong's residence, to discuss the direction of the troops in the next stage. In addition to Mao Zedong, the former secretary of the cpc committee, the other three former committee members attending the meeting were Yu Shandu, commander of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, Yu Benmin, deputy division commander, and Su Xianjun, regimental commander.

After the meeting began, Mao Zedong first briefed the participants on the contents of the secret letter sent by Song Renqian to the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee, and talked about his basic attitude of supporting the instructions of the provincial party committee. Everyone was shocked to learn of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee's request that the workers' and peasants' revolution return to Ninggang, and Commander Yu's reaction was even more intense, with a tone of anger in his tone. He said that when he was in Wenjia City, the provincial party committee believed that the strategic plan could not be implemented and resolutely demanded that it be returned to Shonan to occupy Xiangyue Avenue. The resolution came out only a few days ago, and he asked to go to Ninggang, so the decision was difficult for people to agree with, and it was simply Qin Twilight Chu.
Yu Shandu's fierce criticism was supported by Su Xianjun, who believed that the original good way to go to Rucheng, go to the lotus flower and stop, now turn to Ninggang, which no one knows. This kind of back and forth, back and forth, is really unbelievable, making people confused.
Yu Benmin did not expect the emotions of the two to be so fierce, nor did they expect that everyone's opinions were so opposed, so they could only be silent for a while, and all of a sudden, the air in the room seemed to freeze.
Mao Zedong first broke this silence, combined with his already knowledge of Wang Zekai, the secretary of the provincial party committee, as early as in Wuhan, that he believed that the provincial party committee was familiar with Ninggang, and that the instructions of the provincial party committee did not change without opinion, but adapted to the situation that had changed. Mao Zedong further expressed his views on some of the situations that have taken place in recent days and some of the intelligence he has gathered, saying that we cannot blind us to Mount Tai and not just one Guangdong, as if there is no revolution without Guangdong, Hunan is actually very important, and its popular organizations are still larger than Guangdong. Moreover, as the saying goes, there is no way to strike iron, and it is like playing while fighting, and now the situation has changed greatly. When it was originally decided to go to Shonan, it was because the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army still had a division of troops that could play a great role, but now it is difficult for the remaining people in the army to go there to affect the political situation, and based on this, we will not only focus on Shonan Rucheng.
After talking about his basic understanding of the march into Shonan, Mao Zedong turned the topic to Ninggang. He said that the instruction letter of the provincial party committee mentioned that there is our party organization in Ninggang and an army led by the party. After these days of social investigation and some previous cognition, I can now confirm that the Kongo Mountain that everyone talked about earlier is Jinggang Mountain. Here the terrain is steep, easy to defend and difficult to attack, like the Lotus Jade Emperor Mountain such mountains have dozens, hundreds, around these mountains, there are Ninggang, Yongxin, Yixian and other six or seven counties, geographically very wide. Compared with the two, whether in terms of geographical conditions, popular base, or party organization foundation, Ninggang is much larger than the world of Rucheng. Therefore, being able to meet such a better place than Rucheng, and the instructions of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee are very clear, he himself has considered this.
Although Mao Zedong's speech was clear in thought and fully justified, after all, the direction of the march had changed too much, and it was difficult for Yu Shandu and Su Xianjun's thinking to turn around at the thought of occupying the mountains as kings and joining forces with bandits.
Yu Benmin is nearly forty years old, has a complex life experience, has a wide range of knowledge, and is more spiritually connected and emotionally similar to Mao Zedong in the front committee. After hearing the speeches of others, in order to reconcile the atmosphere and buffer the contradictions, he said that now there are only so many guns left in the guard regiment, and these are the precious capital of our party, and we can no longer afford to lose them. It is okay for the troops to go to Jinggangshan as a temporary and expedient measure, but it cannot be too long, and once there is any movement in Guangdong, our guard regiment will still have to rush over. After all, the guard regiment is a regular army, and the army is to fight, and it is certainly not a long-term solution to always nest in a big mountain like Jinggangshan.
Everyone has been controversial, and it is difficult to come to a consensus. At this time, Mao Zedong said with a firm and resolute attitude that everyone should obey the instructions of the Jiangxi Provincial CPC Committee. First of all, the central government has long had relevant regulations that the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army must accept the control of which province it goes to. Secondly, the present situation of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army requires us to retreat to a place like Jinggangshan. Finally, the original plan to go to Shonan Rucheng was abandoned.
In the stalemate of the meeting, when it was difficult to form a resolution, Mao Zedong showed his strong political perseverance, assumed the political responsibility of the former secretary of the cpc committee, made a final decision without concession in the face of major issues of right and wrong, and announced to everyone the strategic ideas that had been brewing in the past few days.
He said that when the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army arrived at Jinggangshan, it was like planning to divide Rucheng, carry out an agrarian revolution, establish a workers' and peasants' political power, and open up a political situation with armed struggle. Finally, he announced that, in accordance with the instructions of the provincial party committee, he would drive to Jinggangshan and leave tomorrow.
The meeting of the former committee of the Binxingguan abandoned the original strategy of retreating to Rucheng and changed its troops to Jinggangshan on the border of Xianggan and Gansu, and the Chinese revolution turned a new page.
