My first wife is long dead and the second is still alive. My first wife gave birth to a son,...... My second wife was a teacher at a normal school, a heavenly foot, ideologically progressive, in favor of revolution. When I got married, I was 25 and she was 18. My third wife was Wu Ruolan, whom I lived with during the Shonan Rebellion in 1928. She was arrested and killed by Hunan Chairman He Jian. My current wife, Kang Keqing, was married to me in 1928. ”
In 1917, Jude's young wife suffered from a strange fever similar to a red diarrhea and unfortunately died. A Kuomintang elder advised Zhu De to remarry on the grounds that he needed to find a mother for a bereaved baby and a housewife for the family. At this time, a friend of Zhu De introduced his sister Chen Yuzhen to Zhu De. Chen Yuzhen graduated from the Nanxi Simple Normal School in Sichuan and participated in the Xinhai Revolution and the Patriotic War against Yuan. She is progressive in thought, intelligent, knowledgeable, and very docile and wise, and is a typical modern Chinese woman.
After the two met, they fell in love with each other. What do you love about her? Zhu De said: "What attracted me most was probably her modesty, composure and self-confidence, in addition to her participation in Xinhai and the 1916 Revolution as an underground worker. She came from a well-to-do family and had early contact with the revolutionary movement. In the course of our conversation, we found that we had read a lot of books and loved music. In addition, there are many common places that are now too much to say. ”
Soon after meeting, they got married. Chen Yuzhen arranged the family simply, novelly, with very clean noodles and flowers inside and out. She also loves Judd's son very much and regards him as her own. Both husband and wife love music, and in the early morning or evening, they can often hear melodious piano and harp sound wafting out of their home, Zhu De playing the flute, pulling the erhu, Yuzhen playing the piano, sometimes playing the "Shepherd's Song", sometimes playing the "Serenade".
They all love books. A house was specially set aside at home, and an elaborate bookhouse was set up, where books were read and discussed, and sometimes small poems and essays were written. The two lived a full and sweet life.
Later, Zhu De came to Chongqing at the invitation of Yang Sen, and the husband and wife separated. After that, in order to explore the truth of saving the country and saving the people, Zhu De ran around and traveled far and wide, and the couple never had the opportunity to reunite.
In September 1937, Zhu De wrote back to Chen Yuzhen on the front line of the Shanxi Operation: I know your ten years of misery, just like one eye. Thanks to your struggle, I am responsible for the revolution, and it is common for me to have a weak family feeling, and I hope you will forgive me. In this letter, the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army also told Yuzhen in detail the good news of the great victory of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army in ambushing the Japanese invading army at Pingxingguan, so that Yuzhen could share the joy of victory together.
On August 1, 1927, after the Nanchang Uprising, Zhu De led his troops to Jinggangshan, joined Chairman Mao, and established the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base Area. Completely lost contact with his hometown in Sichuan. During his difficult and difficult revolutionary career, Zhu De and Kang Keqing, a female soldier of the Red Army, developed a mutual admiration for each other. In March 1929, he married Kang Keqing.
Kang Keqing later said that it was impossible to remember exactly what day they got married. When they got married, there was little decoration in the new room, and the furnishings were simple, except for a wooden bed, a table, and four square stools.
They came together on the basis of like-mindedness, so the relationship between husband and wife is very good.
Kang Keqing is a simple, industrious rural girl who suffered a lot when she was young, and was sent to be a "Wanglang daughter-in-law" only 40 days after her birth, and also worked as a long-term worker in the landlord's family. She was only 17 years old when she met Judd and could not read. After getting married, Jude became her governess. As soon as there was free time, the two sat side by side, Jude holding the literacy textbook in one hand and pointing with the other, and Kang Ke stared at the textbook intently, learning word by word, memorizing word by word, and writing word by word. Because Zhu De taught seriously, Kang Keqing learned with an open mind. A year or two later, Kang Keqing knew hundreds of words. Jude was very proud of her, believing that she was a "girl who grew up under the education of the army," a standard product of the Red Army. In the autumn of 1934, she participated in the Long March, climbing snow-capped mountains, crossing meadows, rushing through the enemy's guns and bullets, and fighting side by side with male comrades. In the battle, he continues to grow into a strong veteran who can bear great hardships, endure great hardships, and is very disciplined. Jude respected and caressed her more, and often praised her.
Kang Keqing has great respect and consideration for her husband. She once happily recalled the situation when she first met Zhu De: The first time I met Comrade Zhu De was on the way to join the Red Army's march to Jinggangshan. On that day, our team stopped in Suichuan and heard the comrades cheerfully say, "Commander Zhu is here!" "My heart moved, Commander Zhu, isn't that the legendary Zhu and Maoli one?" People are talking about it, and it is certainly a pleasure to have the opportunity to see it with their own eyes. I squeezed into the crowd and looked in the direction others were pointing, only to see a burly, bearded middle-aged man walking toward us. He was wearing straw shoes on his feet, the collar of his military uniform was open, and he was covered in dust, as if he had walked a long way. He sat down on the side of the road and greeted the people around him with a smile.
At that time, I still thought it strange: the reactionary army, slowly speaking, a military commander, is the leader of the miscellaneous regiment of the door-to-door regiment, and it is also a walking road brigade, and how many bodyguards there are before and after. The commander of our Red Army is like an ordinary soldier, he has no official shelf at all, and he has never seen the soldiers and the harmony. I heard that he and the soldiers went down the mountain to carry grain together, and everyone called him "the head of the gang".
I had just come out of the countryside, and it was not very interesting to see the living people, but Comrade Zhu De was approachable, and in front of him, he did not feel restrained. Later, I formed a family with him, that is, like-minded! Of course, in many ways, it should be said that I am his student.
Kang Keqing's love for Zhu De is based on Ji Zi's admiration for Zhu De's great personality. She had told the American writer Niam Wells about her love affair and marriage with Judd. Kang Keqing said:
"When I first met him, I didn't immediately fall in love with him romantically. However, because he lives like a creep and does the work of a creep, he likes him very much. Everyone at that time loved the leader of the revolution. The two of us are the best comrades, but after this transitional period, I cannot help but admit that I have probably fallen in love with him. ”
"I've never quarreled with Jude for 8 years, and sometimes I give him a little criticism, but his usual behavior is always right, and neither of us has ever ordered anyone. When he was sick, I served him as a comrade, and I never cared about his food and clothing, which were taken care of by his servants. ”
"During the Long March, I was always with Zhu De, we saw each other every day, but never cared about things like what he wore and ate, which was the job of his service soldiers. Jude didn't like women to do only housework. I was so busy that I didn't even have time to wash my clothes. During the Long March, my job was to organize the people. ”
The blissful married life between them was enviable, and Ms. Wells said: "... I had lunch at the headquarters with her (referring to Kang Keqing), Zhu Du, and Zhou Enlai. She playfully tapped on Judd's arm, and Judd smiled at his young wife, looking very pleased. ...... I looked at them with a smile and thought to myself: What a rare couple they are! They all have awe-inspiring personalities, they are so honest, frank, authentic, pure, they are like hard steel - although they have just gone through ten years of conquest, they are as calm and natural as if they came out of the sports field. The two of them sat on uneven benches, joking in the midst of the hilarity.
Kang Keqing's thoughtfulness and respect for Zhu De has always been a good story in the Red Army. Whether in the anti-"perimeter period" or during the Long March, or in the eight-year War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Three-Year War of Liberation, she did her utmost to do more for her husband and share something, so that Zhu De did not have any back-up superiority, commanded the army to fight with all her might, and threw herself into the great cause of the liberation of the Chinese nation.
Jude loved to read, and in the frequent intervals between battles, he never let go of a minute and a second of study time. But it was not easy to get books and newspapers during the war years. In order to get her husband more newspapers and books, Kang Keqing thought of many ways. Sometimes she searched for it from the parcels she sent, sometimes borrowed them from her comrades-in-arms, and sometimes she even went to the central leading comrades for help.

For the sake of the revolution they were often separated and could not live together permanently; for the sake of the revolution they never had children, for fear that having children would affect their work. But it is precisely because of this deeper, more extensive love that their love and married life become beyond the ordinary fullness.
After the liberation of the whole country, whenever Kang Keqing talked about her and Zhu De's like-minded and loving husband and wife life, her face was always full of happiness, and she was proud to have Zhu De, a good husband.
