Tan Ci Tong

1865.3.10-1898.9.28, Zi Fusheng, Zhuangfei, Liuyang, Hunan, a famous politician, thinker, and reformist in modern China. His renxue is the first philosophical work of the Reform School and an important work in the history of modern Chinese thought. In his early years, Tan Sitong advocated the establishment of the Shiwu School and the Southern Society in his hometown of Hunan, hosted the Xiang Bao, and advocated the opening of mines and the construction of railways, publicizing the reform of the law and the restoration of the new policy. In 1898 (the twenty-fourth year of Guangxu), Tan Sitong participated in the leadership of the Wushu Reform Law, but was killed after failure, at the age of 33, and was one of the "Six Gentlemen of Wushu".

Born on April 21, 1871 in Changsha County, Hunan Province, under the Hidden Storage Mountain of Qingtai Capital, Bancang Chong, he later studied at Yuelu Academy, supported Kangliang's reform of the law, and participated in organizations such as the Southern Society and the Non-Foot Binding Association. He studied in Japan and the United Kingdom, majoring in pedagogy, philosophy, and ethics.

In his lifetime, Cai Yi did two major things: one was to lead the Uprising of the New Army in Yunnan during the Xinhai Revolution to overthrow the qing Dynasty's rule; the other was to actively participate in the Uprising of the Patriotic Army against Yuan Shikai's claim to the throne and the defense of the democratic republic's political system four years later. His posthumous works were compiled as "The Collected Works of Mr. Cai Songpo".
