The 4K color restored version of "The Eternal Electric Wave" shines at the opening ceremony of the Beijing International Film Festival

On September 21st, the opening ceremony of the 11th Beijing International Film Festival, the first 4K color restoration feature film "The Eternal Electric Wave", jointly completed by the CCTV Central Video 5G New Media Platform and the China Film Archive.

Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the restoration team pre-released the "Pushing the Window to See the Moon" Mid-Autumn Festival Special Restoration Clip, witnessing the love of the revolutionaries through a full moon, and also allowing the audience to look back at the glory years of the Chinese Revolution through 4K color restoration technology, and feel the selfless spirit and great dedication of the revolutionary martyrs.

Produced in 1958 by bayi Film Studio, the original film "The Eternal AirWave" is the first classic film in New China to tell the hero of the party's hidden front. The film integrates the thrilling revolutionary struggle into ordinary family life, and strives to shape the image of Li Xia, an optimistic and resolute Communist Party member who is not afraid of danger and has the courage to dedicate, which has deeply influenced generations of Chinese. In this 4K color restoration version, the project restoration team combined the human-computer interactive AI coloring with traditional restoration techniques with independent intellectual property rights in China, and repaired and colored the original black and white images of the film frame by frame, injecting fresh vitality into this red classic.

It is understood that the 4K color restored version of "The Eternal Electric Wave" will hold a premiere ceremony during the Beijing International Film Festival, and the film will also land in theaters across the country in the near future. This is the first black-and-white classic feature film to be re-screened in theaters after a 4K color restoration, when the audience can see the new style of this red classic on the big screen.
