Pozarevac, Serbia, 5 Nov (Xinhua) -- The groundbreaking ceremony for the Serbian "Danube Corridor" expressway project, which was built by china's Shandong Expressway Group, was held in the eastern Serbian city of Pozarevac on 5 November.

In his speech, Vucic thanked Chinese enterprises. He said that Chinese enterprises have undertaken many infrastructure projects in Serbia, and the construction quality of Chinese enterprises is obvious to all. The "Danube Corridor" project, which is part of the transport network in eastern Serbia, will, when completed, will connect eastern Serbia with major Serbian cities such as Belgrade, helping eastern cities to attract more investment and tourists, "which is essential for the development of eastern Serbia".

Chen Bo said that the start of the "Danube Corridor" project is another result of cooperation in the field of infrastructure between China and Cyprus, and it is believed that the eastern part of Serbia will attract more investment and tourists, and will become more beautiful.

The "Danube Corridor" project is a fast road connecting Pozarevac-Veneto Gradište-Golubac in Serbia, with a total length of about 68 km, four lanes in both directions and a design speed of 100 km/h. The works are expected to be completed in November 2024.
