He took the stage at the age of ten, and starred in 6 "West Chambers" at the age of fifteen in 1937, which was full of Kaifeng. Originally sung in Yuxi tune, after the performance gradually integrated The tunes of Yudong and Xiangfu, and absorbed some singing voices such as opera, pendant, Shanxi Zizi, Hebei Zizi, Peking Opera, etc., and did not create new styles. After 1938, due to illness, he could no longer perform martial arts, so he immersed himself in the reform of Tsing Yi, Hua Dan performance and white speech. In 1941, he performed in Shaanxi and Gansu. In 1948, he founded the Xiangyu Opera Society in Xi'an, dedicated to cultivating young actors. In 1951, in order to support the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he led the drama club to tour the northwest, central and southern China to perform, and donated a fighter plane of the "Xiangyu Opera Society" with the performance income, which was known as a "patriotic artist". In 1952, he participated in the First National Opera Observation and Performance Conference and won the Honorary Award, and performed abroad in the same year.

She joined the Communist Party of China in 1959 and successively served as vice chairman of the Chinese Dramatists Association, vice chairman of the Henan Branch, president of the Henan Yu Theater, principal of the Henan Provincial Opera School, and a deputy to the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh National People's Congresses.

At 7:06 a.m. on June 1, 2004, after three consecutive days of coma, he died of illness at the Henan Provincial People's Hospital at the age of 81.
