His name was Xiong Xianghui, who was born in Wuhan in 1919 to a wealthy family whose father had served as president of the Hubei High Court. At the age of 17, Xiong Xianghui went to Tsinghua University to study, where he joined our party.
In June 1937, Tsinghua University during the summer vacation, the person in charge Jiang Nanxiang arranged for Xiong Xianghui to go home to visit his relatives, by the way to understand the various situations in society, shortly after Xiong Xianghui arrived home, the July 7 Incident broke out, the Japanese army attacked North China, the situation in Peiping was critical, and in August, Nankai University, Tsinghua University, and Peking University jointly established a temporary university in Changsha, Xiong Xianghui immediately came to Changsha to report, but did not see our party personnel. In December, Xiong Xianghui received instructions to join the Hunan Youth Field Service Corps and "serve" in the south of Huzong.

Soon, Hu Zongnan made an appointment with Xiong Xianghui, and Hu Zongnan's conversation made Hu Zongnan very appreciative, and when he learned that Xiong Xianghui's father was the president of the High Court, he arranged to meet Xiong Xianghui's father again, and after meeting Hu Zongnan trusted Xiong Xianghui more, but what Hu Zongnan did not think about was that these were carefully prepared for him.
Hu Zongnan was a first-term student of Huangpu, and Premier Zhou served as the director of the political department of the Whampoa Military Academy, and he knew some of Hu Zongnan's personality characteristics very well. Xiong Xianghui quickly passed this information to his liaison, Wang Shijian, and through his radio, the news was passed on to the Yan'an side.
After studying the organization, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De openly telephoned Hu Zongnan, exposing Hu Zongnan's conspiracy to mobilize troops to prepare for trouble, and staged a modern version of the "empty city plan" to inform the enemy that our army had already made preparations, and the telegram was a warning to Hu Zongnan. After receiving this telegram, Hu Zongnan was very surprised, Hu Zongnan knew that it was likely that it was an internal leak, and he asked Xiong Xianghui, will the battle still be fought? Who will leak the secret? Xiong Xianghui had already made preparations, asking Hu Zongnan to designate personnel to investigate those who knew the secrets.
That evening, Hu Zongnan summoned his subordinates for consultation, and finally considered that the plan had been revealed, he chose to stop the action. The top-secret information transmitted by Xiong Xianghui broke hu Zongnan's dangerous action.

After arriving inside, Premier Zhou and Xiong Xianghui did not talk for long, they had to go out, in order to prevent the enemy from being suspicious, Premier Zhou very carefully gave Xiong Xianghui a bundle of magazines prepared earlier, and gave several unpackaged copies, if someone asked why it dragged on for so long, Xiong Xianghui could say that they were busy looking for something to bundle, and I read a few magazines inside.
After Premier Zhou left Xi'an, the military commander sent a report to Hu Zongnan, which mentioned that Xiong Xianghui sent Premier Zhou and also took the publication out, and after Reading it, Hu Zongnan was very happy, believing that Premier Zhou's actions in Xi'an had not escaped his eyes.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Hu Zongnan was awarded the title of general by Chiang Kai-shek, and the happy Hu Zongnan planned to sponsor Xiong Xianghui to study in the United States, Xiong Xianghui had to prepare the formalities, and in the process of handling the procedures, Xiong Xianghui repeatedly passed on information, because it was necessary to apply for a visa for studying abroad, as well as an enrollment permit, one after another, time passed rapidly, at this time Xiong Xianghui went to Xi'an again to meet Hu Zongnan, Hu Zongnan was very headache. Hu Zongnan's successive attacks were all disintegrated by our army, but his own troops were annihilated.
In March 1947, Hu Zongnan left Xiong Xianghui, who had planned to study in the United States, Hu Zongnan gave Xiong Xianghui two secret documents, asking him to draw a military sketch after reading it, Xiong Xianghui read the document, in a cold sweat, Chiang Kai-shek planned to launch 150,000 people to attack Yan'an, plus more than 90 aircraft to cooperate, while our army only has more than 30,000 troops.
Xiong Xianghui then hurriedly reported this information to the organization through his contact person, Wang Shijian.
After Premier Zhou received the information, the organization quickly made preparations to withdraw from Yan'an, leaving Hu Zongnan with an empty city. Here, the great men used the strength of the Yan'an Border Region, did not cross the Yellow River, insisted on fighting in northern Shaanxi, dragged hu Zongnan's main forces, and reduced the pressure on other liberated areas.

In May 1947, Xiong Xianghui accepted Hu Zongnan's order to study in the United States. In October of that year, Wang Shijian was arrested in Xi'an, and Xiong Xianghui's identity was likely to be exposed, but Premier Zhou clearly knew that Xiong Xianghui's identity would not be known to Chiang Kai-shek, and Wang Shijian's arrest was done by the Kuomintang Secrecy Bureau, and Mao Renfeng and others of the Secrecy Bureau were deeply related to Hu Zongnan, Hu Zongnan considered his identity, he let Xiong Xianghui serve as a confidential secretary, and personally sent Xiong Xianghui to the United States to study, if Xiong Xianghui's identity is exposed, Hu Zongnan's identity is likely to plummet. With this in mind, Hu Zongnan is likely to do his best to suppress things.
As Premier Zhou had predicted, Hu Zongnan quickly decided that all his subordinates involved would be handled by him, and the matter would soon be settled. However, Hu Zongnan's move to save face still left a lot of foreshadowing for the future.
In 1949, Xiong Xianghui returned to his homeland after studying in the United States and after the liberation of Nanjing. After the founding of New China, Premier Zhou hosted a banquet for Zhang Zhizhong, Liu Fei, and other former kuomintang officials. Xiong Xianghui also attended the banquet.
Above the banquet, Zhang Zhizhong was very surprised to see Xiong Xianghui, and thought that Xiong Xianghui was also an insurrectionist, but Premier Zhou said: "He is not an uprising, he is returning to the team." Premier Zhou confirmed Xiong Xianghui's identity and asked Zhang Zhizhong to tell Chiang Kai-shek not to commit suicide.
This move seems unremarkable, but it is an action that has been considered for a long time. At this time, our People's Liberation Army was liberating the southwest region. At this time, Hu Zongnan and Song Xilian led their troops to retreat to Sichuan, and there were still hundreds of thousands of people under their command, and if the two retreated to the border, relying on the terrain of the Lancang River and other places, they continued to resist, or led the team to flee abroad, it would be a legacy. Hu Zongnan and Song Xilian also had such an idea, and it became very important to find a way to prevent the implementation of this plan.
Zhang Zhizhong wrote a letter to Chiang Kai-shek that night, telling him about Xiong Xianghui and advising him not to react to the end. A few weeks later, Chiang Kai-shek received this letter, which was very irritating to Chiang Kai-shek, and Hu Zongnan and Song Xilian repeatedly expressed their hope to break through from Chengdu to the border. But Chiang Kai-shek repeatedly refused. After the Luhan Uprising in Yunnan, Liu Wenhui and others in Sichuan, in December, Song Xilin's troops were completely annihilated at the Dadu River, Song Xilian was also captured, Chiang Kai-shek ordered Hu Zongnan to lead his troops to break through, but the defeat was decided, and finally Hu Zongnan could only flee to Baodao by plane in a gray and slippery manner. The soldiers of our People's Liberation Army eventually surrounded and completely annihilated Hu Zongnan's troops and won the southwest battle.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xiong Xianghui has been engaged in diplomatic work, retiring in 1982, and in 2005, Xiong Xianghui died at the age of 86.
