Emperor Xiaozhao of Northern Qi (535–561; reigned 560–561), yan'an, the third emperor of Northern Qi.
He was the sixth son of Emperor Gao Huan of Northern Qi and the half-brother of Emperor Wenxuan. Beautiful and dignified.
Emperor Suzong began to participate in the government affairs of the dynasty, and his political experience gradually matured and enriched, seeing that his second brother Emperor Wenxuan was indulging in wine and the chancellor was becoming inflamed and attached, but Gao Yan was full of sorrow and gave advice from time to time. When his brother Emperor Wenxuan was dying, he said that if necessary, he could give up the throne, but he could not hurt Gao Yin. The deposed emperor took the throne and monopolized the government. In 560, Gao Yan launched a coup d'état and deposed Gao Yin as king of Jinan. Gao Yan ascended to the emperor's throne and changed the yuan emperor to the throne, at the age of twenty-six.

During the reign of Emperor Suzong, Wenzhi was both a martial artist and a master, and the emperor paid attention to political affairs, actively seeking and appointing talents to serve the imperial court, and political clarity; The emperor cared about the people's livelihood, lightly dispensed with the small endowment, and issued an edict to dispatch ambassadors to tour the four sides of the province, observe customs, ask people about their sufferings, and consider gains and losses. Among the six emperors of Northern Qi, only Suzong was able to claim to have both moral integrity and ability, but unfortunately he reigned for a short time, that is, the following year, Gao Yan died of serious injuries caused by a horse crash, reigning for only two years, and was only 27 years old.
When Gao Yin was deposed, Lou Zhaojun ordered his son Gao Yan to swear never to harm his grandson Gao Yin's life, but in the end, Gao Yan was worried about the consequences and secretly killed Gao Yin the following year. Soon after Gao Yan had an accident, it was said that it was emperor Wenxuan's ghost revenge. Lou Zhaojun was also deeply sad and indignant about this and refused to forgive Gao Yan. In order to save his son Gao Bainian, on his deathbed Gao Yan announced the abolition of the young crown prince and passed on to his younger brother Gao Zhan, the Prince of Changguang. His courtesy name was Emperor Xiaozhao (孝昭皇帝) and his temple name was Suzong (苏宗).

The second son, Gao Bainian the Prince of Leling, was born to Empress Shuncheng of the Yuan clan and the second son of Emperor Xiaozhao Gao Yan, and after Gao Yan succeeded to the throne, Gao Bainian was made crown prince. When his father Gao Yan died, in order to save his life, he passed the throne to his uncle Gao Zhan, so he was named the Prince of Leling, but he was eventually killed by The Wucheng Emperor Gao Zhan.
