Angered, Yang Wuzhi resigned. It is precisely because of this incident that he realized that dark China urgently needs "science to save the country", and he came up with the idea of studying abroad, hoping to revitalize China with "science teaching the country".

After Yang Wuzhi returned to China, he served as a professor in the Department of Mathematics at Tsinghua University, and his teaching not only influenced generations, but also influenced his son Yang Zhenning.
