When Chu Minyi, a master of tai chi, was shot, why did he make a move of "white crane bright wings"

author:Zhang Shengquan's wonderful history

Chu Minyi not only played Taijiquan well, but also the most capable of all the apprentices of Wu Jianquan, the founder of Wu-style Taijiquan, so Wu Jianquan cultivated him as a successor. However, this apprentice, who made Wu Jianquan very satisfied, later became a traitor, what was going on? Moreover, it is very interesting that Chu Minyi was still practicing tai chi when he was shot. What's going on here?

When Chu Minyi, a master of tai chi, was shot, why did he make a move of "white crane bright wings"

In 1884, Chu Minyi was born in Wuxing, Zhejiang Province, into a family of scholars, his father Chu Jitian was a famous local doctor, and his mother was also a famous lady from the clan. Born in such a large family, Chu Minyi's identity is naturally noble.

At the same time, because his father disciplined him extremely strictly, he was familiar with the Four Books and Five Classics at an early age and had a good learning.

However, Chu Jitian did not intend to train his son to be an old master. After Chu Minyi laid a solid foundation in Chinese studies, he sent Chu Minyi to Suzhou to learn English with an American. During the period when he was studying English, Chu Minyi read a large number of foreign literary works. And through continuous reading, master the reading and writing of English.

Subsequently, Chu Minyi studied in Japan in 1903, where he completed high school and was successfully admitted to the university.

During the period of studying in Japan, the League also continued to grow in Japan. Under the influence of Zhang Jingjiang, Chu Minyi had a profound understanding of the revolution, and at the same time developed a great sense of hatred for the decadent rule of the Qing government.

In 1906, Chu Minyi and Zhang Jingjiang went to France to study. While passing through Singapore, Chu joined the League.

After arriving in France, Chu Minyi, Cai Yuanpei and others established the China Printing Bureau, published many revolutionary publications, and made great contributions to the propagation of revolutionary ideas.

During his study abroad, Chu Minyi admired Wang Zhaoming, a revolutionary elder who combined appearance and talent. After the two met, they felt sorry for each other, and it wasn't long before they became close friends.

In 1911, after the successful restoration of Shanghai, Chu Minyi returned to Shanghai from Paris. By this time Wang Zhaoming had come out of the prison of the Qing Dynasty, regained his freedom, and held a wedding with Chen Bijun in Shanghai. Wang Zhaoming seems to be the great hero of the Xinhai Revolution, and Chu Minyi, as a little fan, is more willing to be closer to him. Therefore, he often visited Wang Zhaoming.

Wang Zhaoming, who is newly married, probably tasted the happiness of the newlywed, so he is very willing to let all the bachelors in the world enter the besieged city. Therefore, under the mediation of him and Chen Bijun, Chu Minyi married Chen Shunzhen, the adopted daughter of Chen Bijun's mother.

Subsequently, chu Minyi, on the recommendation of His brother-in-law Wang Zhaoming, was given the post of chief of the general affairs department of the headquarters of the League in Shanghai. However, he only held this position for 4 months, because Sun Wen took the initiative to give up the presidency to Yuan Shikai, and he also withdrew from the political arena with a number of league members and went to Europe to study again.

When Chu Minyi, a master of tai chi, was shot, why did he make a move of "white crane bright wings"

In 1920, Chu Minyi founded the Sino-French University of Lyon in France with Li Shizeng and others. Because of his considerable talent, he was elected vice-chancellor. Of course, in addition to running the school, Chu Minyi also studied for a medical doctorate at the University of Strasbourg, and obtained a doctorate in medicine in 1924.

At this time, Chu Minyi is really a benchmark among high-quality men in the Republic of China. He came from a noble family, with the blessing of a doctorate in medicine, and was still an old revolutionary of the League. Even in his circle of friends, there are Sun Wen, Wang Zhaoming, Cai Yuanpei, Zhang Jing and other big guy-level figures. Therefore, if Chu Minyi's life cannot reach the peak of life, it is simply unreasonable.

After returning to China with a doctorate in medicine, Chu Minyi did not work as a doctor, but engaged in education. He has served as a professor, acting president and dean of Guangdong Medical College of Guangdong University.

However, as long as the big brother follows well, climbing the peak of life is not a thing.

After Wang Zhaoming became the president of the Executive Yuan of the National Government, Chu Minyi was also appointed secretary general of the Executive Yuan. A moment of high authority, the scenery is indistinguishable.

After Chu Minyi took office, he did a big thing, that is, to promote the art of the country. A little more detailed is to promote tai chi in the national art.

It turned out that Chu Minyi was a fan of Taijiquan. When he returned from Europe, because martial arts could not only strengthen the body, but also defend the country, with the support of the National Government, the national practice of martial arts was very strong.

At that time, the most mainstream boxing techniques were one was shape-meaning boxing and the other was taijiquan. Shape and intention fist attack is fierce and difficult to get started, tai chi is evenly fast, rigid and soft, so there are many people who learn.

Chu Minyi is a person with a wide range of hobbies and usually likes sports. Like swimming, playing ball, kicking flower shuttlecocks, etc., he is all good at it.

Chu Minyi is even more passionate about martial arts. He first worshipped the taijiquan master Yang Chengfu as his teacher. However, when Yang Chengfu taught boxing, he did not look up to him, a dignitary of the state government. Every time he was selected to accompany him, Yang Chengfu was like him to "take over", which made him very embarrassed.

Another Taijiquan master, Wu Jianquan's Wu-style Taijiquan, is delicate and soft, loose and natural, plus Wu Jianquan is easy-going, and rarely uses internal skills when pushing hands with his apprentices. Therefore, Chu Minyi soon changed his worship to Wu Jianquan as a teacher and learned Wu-style taijiquan from him.

(In fact, from here, we seem to have seen that Chu Minyi has the character of "second person".) )

When Chu Minyi, a master of tai chi, was shot, why did he make a move of "white crane bright wings"

After completing his studies, Chu Minyi, who was addicted to martial arts, also took two brothers back to Guangzhou and practiced with them day and night. Because he is good at speculating and has high understanding, his boxing skills have improved rapidly.

In 1928, Chu Minyi went to Shanghai to serve as the principal of the Sino-French Industrial College.

During that period, Chu Minyi befriended his fellow brothers Xu Zhiyi, Wu Tunan, and others. At that time, Xu Zhiyi was already a master of tai chi and was invited to teach boxing at the Jingwuguan. Under the guidance of Xu Zhiyi, Chu Minyi not only improved his martial arts, but also gradually understood the essence of Taijiquan.

Chu Minyi was obsessed with taijiquan, so he moved the idea of hoping that the whole people would learn martial arts.

He first used his power to reorganize the Chinese Guoshu Association and found the journal "Public Health". In many speeches, he strongly admired Taijiquan, and said that Taijiquan "can cultivate both body and mind, learn and cultivate at the same time, and enable the old and weak to practice, and there is no disadvantage."

Chu Minyi first founded the Guoshu Branch In Shanghai, and the first person he thought of as the curator was Master Wu Jianquan. Who knew that Wu Jianquan heard that he was going to be disciplined by Chiang Kai-shek, and he was quite uneasy, so he was a little hesitant. Of course, Chu Minyi was also worried that after Wu Jianquan became the curator, he would say sensitive words. Therefore, in the end, he did not let Wu Jianquan serve as the curator.

In order to make all people practice tai chi, Chu Minyi adapted Wu style tai chi into a more practiceable tai chi exercise. In addition, he also cast tai chi balls and tai chi sticks out of brass in order to allow more people to strengthen their bodies by practicing tai chi.

In order to promote tai chi gymnastics, Chu Minyi also specially found the martial arts master Chu Guiting at that time, hoping that he could be the image spokesperson of tai chi balls and tai chi sticks, and publicize and promote the tai chi gymnastics he made up.

However, although he offered a very favorable condition, Chu Guiting did not buy Chu Minyi's account and politely refused to leave.

In addition to innovating in tai chi, Chu Minyi also compiled Wu-style tai chi into a book, and used dozens of photos of Wu Jianquan practicing tai chi in the book.

When Chu Minyi, a master of tai chi, was shot, why did he make a move of "white crane bright wings"

Because Chu Minyi was an important member of the state government, he had many relations with the military, politics, and cultural circles. Therefore, after the publication of his book, it attracted many officials and warlords to practice Wu shi tai chi. Some scholars have also joined the practice of Wu-style taijiquan. Suddenly, Wu-style Taijiquan became the hottest of all the Tai Chi schools. And The Taiji master Wu Jianquan, because of the propaganda of his apprentice Chu Minyi, became one of the most influential martial arts masters in the northern and southern martial arts.

Therefore, Wu Jianquan was very satisfied with Chu Minyi's apprentice. Wu Jianquan even taught his life's ultimate learning. For Chu Minyi's questions, he knew everything.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Wang Zhaoming issued a "Yan Telegram", openly surrendered to Japan, and established the Wang puppet regime in Nanjing. Who knows, Chu Minyi also followed Wang Zhaoming to defect to the enemy and was appointed vice president of the Executive Yuan and foreign minister. During that period, on behalf of Wang Zhaoming, he signed many traitorous treaties with the Japanese government, which aroused the anger of the Chinese people. So at that time, there was a saying that "Chen Gongbo's mouth, Zhou Fohai's pen, and Chu Minyi's legs".

After Wang Zhaoming's death, Chu Minyi was ostracized by Chen Gongbo and Zhou Fohai. In the end, it was Chen Bijun who found the Japanese government, and Chu Minyi was able to leave the land of right and wrong and go to Guangdong to serve as the governor and security commander.

However, the Japanese were not Chu Minyi's long-term patrons, because after the United States dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, the Japanese government was forced to announce its surrender under pressure.

At this time, Chu Minyi also tried his best to obey Chiang Kai-shek, hoping that Chiang Kai-shek would forgive him without blaming him in the past. But out of the mix, sooner or later is to pay back. As soon as Chiang Kai-shek issued an arrest warrant, Chu Minyi's political fate came to an end.

Although Chu Minyi repeatedly pleaded in court that he was only an executor and not a decision-maker in the face of ironclad evidence, Chu Minyi was sentenced to death for the crime of traitor.

It is said that Chu Minyi died quite a maverick. He was still practicing tai chi on the day he was shot. During the execution, after being shot, he suddenly turned around, looked at the executioner, and made a move of a white crane with bright wings. At that time, it scared the people present. Fortunately, after he made the white crane bright-winged move, he only turned around twice in the same place, and then he fell down, and everyone breathed a long breath.

Chu Minyi has no position in politics, no discipline, and milk is a mother. However, he is versatile, especially in tai chi, and his level is very high. If he had been able to stand firm, not be tempted by the high-ranking official Houlu, and concentrate on studying taijiquan, his role in martial arts would certainly not be small. Unfortunately, he was "unstable in the next plate", did not keep his bottom line, became a traitor, and went to a sad end.
