Do you know how long the history of Chinese lotus is?

As early as 3,000 years ago, China had a history of cultivating lotus, and during the Han Dynasty, there was a tradition of eating lotus in many areas in southern China.

In 1972, changsha Mawangdui Western Han Tomb unearthed a lacquer ding, excavated when the ding was filled with lotus root soup, but because the lotus root quickly melted into the water after the opening of the lid met the air, there is only one black and white photo, which was captured by archaeologists at the scene.

Along with the excavation of lotus soup, there are also lacquer dings containing lotus soup, and a total of 7 pieces of lacquer dings have been unearthed in Mawangdui, with roughly the same size and exquisite ornamentation. The lacquer pot containing lotus soup has the words "erdou" in Zhushu on the inside, and the measured internal capacity is 4300 ml.
