Fang Baozhong was born in 1977 in Jiangning District, Nanjing. In July 2021, after the outbreak of the epidemic at Nanjing Lukou Airport, Fang Baozhong has been fighting in the frontline of the fight against the epidemic. Together with his colleagues, he maintained order at 27 nucleic acid testing sites in his jurisdiction and participated in seven rounds of testing.

According to statistics, during the epidemic period, Fang Baozhong and his colleagues inspected 24-hour shifts, accumulatively inspecting more than 5,000 related vehicles and inspecting more than 10,000 relevant personnel.
At about 4:30 p.m. on August 20, a traffic accident occurred on a local construction section, causing road congestion. After Fang Baozhong understood the situation, he immediately rushed to the place where the accident occurred for traffic diversion.
It was not until 8 o'clock that night that Fang Baozhong finished the evacuation work and returned to the squadron to eat and rest. At about 24:00 at night, he suddenly felt unwell while the squadron was preparing for duty, and was immediately sent to the hospital for rescue.
But unfortunately, Fang Baozhong never woke up again, and his life was frozen at the age of 43.
