Citizens who were chilling downstairs actually encountered a "heavenly coffee cup".
Xu Mou, a man who lives on the 30th floor, threw a Starbucks coffee cup filled with water and a takeaway bowl containing crayfish residue out of the window within a week.
On November 4, the surging news reporter learned from the Shanghai Jing'an District People's Procuratorate (hereinafter referred to as the "Jing'an District Procuratorate") that recently, the court prosecuted Xu for suspected high-altitude projectiles.
"At about 10 p.m. on June 8th, I was chilling downstairs when suddenly something almost hit me on the head and fell at my feet, and I saw a starbucks plastic cup, and the water in the cup splashed on the ground. I saw that there was an order label on the cup, so I took it and reported it. The reporter said.
According to the Jing'an District Procuratorate, Xu Mou, born in 1990, is the head of a department of a company and lives on the 30th floor of a high-rise community in Jing'an. He is usually busy at work, and often drinks some coffee and drinks in the rented house to refresh and relieve stress.
The tall buildings involved
On June 8, 2021, Xu placed an order for a cup of Starbucks coffee on a takeaway platform, and after drinking it, he still felt thirsty, so he filled the mineral water with a plastic cup, and after drinking a few sips, the water belt cup was thrown out of the study window on the 30th floor and smashed into the main road of the community.
The public security organs retrieved surveillance video to confirm the situation when Xu dropped the water cup involved in the case and landed on the night of the crime. In the course of the investigation, the public security organs also found that Xu placed an order on a takeaway platform on June 15, 2021, and purchased two crayfish, about 40 pieces. At about 3:00 a.m., Xu threw a white plastic bowl containing crayfish meal residues from the windows of a 30-story building and smashed it on the main road of pedestrians and vehicles in the community. The landing point of Xu's two high-altitude projectiles is far away from the horizontal distance of the window, which is the intentional throwing of Xu.
The procurator who undertook the case interrogated the defendant in accordance with the law, reviewed all the case materials, and found that Xu threw an object from a high altitude in a building, the circumstances were serious, and his behavior had violated the criminal law, and he should be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of throwing objects from a high altitude.
On November 1, the Jing'an District Procuratorate indicted Xu on suspicion of throwing objects from a height.
