Quanzhou Shaolin Temple, also known as the Southern Shaolin Temple, was originally named "Zhenguo Dongchan Shaolin Temple", which is said to have been built by Zhikong into Min, one of the "Thirteen Stick Monks" of the Shaolin Temple of The Song Mountains in the early Tang Dynasty. In the fourth year of Tang Tianyou (907), Zhu Quanzhong usurped Tang and proclaimed himself King of Liang, and the Shaolin Temple in Quanzhou was destroyed against the then King of Min, and was destroyed; in the sixth year of the Taiping Revival of the Northern Song Dynasty (981), it was revised.

The first time it was destroyed, the reason was that the anti-Liang usurpation of Tang and the King of Min attached Liang, which is consistent with Li Shimin's history with Songshan Shaolin, I recognize you as Ming Jun, you recognize me as a warrior monk who protects the country; and when the Northern Song Dynasty was rebuilt, quanzhou's troops Xinghua Army had been separated from Quanzhou and became the current Putian administrative region, with Zhao Kuangyin fearing the decentralization of military generals, if Southern Shaolin was in Xinghua (Putian), it was impossible to allow reconstruction. Of course, there are many other pieces of evidence that are not listed here, because that's not the focus of this article. Mr. Jin Yong also claimed in the 2004 "China Fujian Southern Shaolin Martial Arts Competition" that "the early creation was wrong" and that Southern Shaolin should be in Quanzhou, Fujian, and said that when the novel was revised in the future, it would be changed to "Quanzhou Shaolin Temple".

The second time it was destroyed: in the first year of the Southern Song Dynasty (1276), "Qingyuan Shaolin Temple Thousand Monks Against Pu Shou Geng's Descent", outside the East Gate "Fighting Yuan Yue Thirty Thousand, Yuan Instigation Capital (Yuan Attack Quanzhou General) Sent Hu To Ride Chong Shaolin Temple", destroyed again; Ming Hongwu Decade (1377), the state official Huang Lizhong "neglected the imperial court, repaired the Shaolin Temple".

The third time it was destroyed: In the twenty-eighth year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1763), because of his participation in the activities of the Heaven and Earth Society against the Qing Dynasty and the Restoration of the Ming Dynasty, Qianlong ordered the burning of the Shaolin Temple, and the Quanzhou Shaolin Temple was destroyed for the third time.

Although the Southern Shaolin Temple has undergone several times of rise and fall, the historical sites still exist.

According to historical records, Quanzhou Shaolin Temple was built by Zhikong into Min, one of the "thirteen stick monks" of Shaolin in songshan in the Tang Dynasty, and in history, there were three revivals and three wastes, and there were thousands of monks in the temple in the heyday, "a thousand monks can be martial", which can be described as the same origin of the north and south Shaolin. The Southern Shaolin martial arts consist of Wuzu Quan, Taizu Quan, White Crane Quan, Wu Mei Hua Quan and other fists to form a unique and profound boxing system; it is an important connotation of Quanzhou's history and culture, and also a valuable heritage in traditional Chinese martial arts. Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, it has spread to Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Ryukyu, becoming a branch of the Southern Shaolin martial arts in Quanzhou. This is the "martial arts hall" in the courtyard, and it is also a place for martial monks to practice, but unfortunately there were no martial monks practicing martial arts when I went.

Warrior monks, this is not true in India, but the Buddha has two phases: the Buddha has both the bodhisattva compassion and the vajra angry eyes. The so-called "Bodhisattva lowers his eyebrows, so he has six paths of compassion; Vajrapani is angry, so he subdues the four demons." The monk Xi Wu one to strengthen the body and two to protect the monastery three to the practice of martial arts into Zen, this is the original meaning of the development of martial monks in China, in the Tang Dynasty, in order to save Li Shimin to participate in the great righteousness of the country, the martial monks and chivalrous combined to become chivalrous monks. In the words of Guo Jing's teachings to Yang Guo, defined, "for the country and the people, the great hero", Quanzhou Southern Shaolin was destroyed three times, all for the country and the people, can be called the great hero monk also. In the Tang Dynasty, the flourishing Shaolin martial monks, the Song Dynasty Quanzhou people recognized the study must also become a common practice, Quanzhou disciples must have a large number of Southern Shaolin to learn the art, there is "Qingyuan Shaolin Temple Thousand Monks Against Pu Shou Geng's Descending Yuan". Then there were the Ming Dynasty Yu Dayu teaching songshan Shaolin disciples Zong Qing and Pu Conggun, and only then did the Qing Dynasty Hong Xiguan and Fang Shiyu avoid disasters quanzhou southern Shaolin to learn Shaolin martial arts, and there was the Five Ancestral Fists that were combined with white crane fist, monkey fist, Luohan fist, Dazun fist and Taizu fist. The so-called Shaolin fist in the north leg of the southern fist and the Shaolin stick method of the thirteen stick monks can find inheritors in quanzhou folk.

In May 1997, at the age of 23, Master Shi Changding came to quanzhou Shaolin Temple, where the restoration began, to serve as abbot of the temple. In the humble monk's house, Shi Changding lived a hard life of green lanterns accompanied by ancient Buddhas and only listening to Zen sounds, and also became a witness to the revival of the old appearance of the Shaolin Temple in Quanzhou. During these years of abbotship, While presiding over the restoration of the monastery, Master Shi Changding also donated money for the restoration of the Quanzhou Shaolin Temple by publicizing and promoting the martial arts culture of Southern Shaolin at home and abroad. Over the years, the construction of the monastery has progressed smoothly, and the Southern Shaolin Martial Monks' Group has also been formed. Every morning, Shi Changding, who is the leader of the martial monastic order, always leads the young men of the martial monastic order to practice martial arts, from the basic skills to the Five Ancestral Martial Arts, to learn the essence of Southern Shaolin martial arts. Among these young people from all over the country, some of them have practiced the iron arm divine skill of Wei zhen wulin, and some of them have the long-lost "one-finger Zen" skill, which has a Shaolin legacy of "all monks can do martial arts". The martial arts monks have won many awards in martial arts competitions at home and abroad, and are often invited to perform abroad, and each time they are shocked by four, blowing the Southern Shaolin Whirlwind overseas. Over the years, disciples from home and abroad have often come to learn martial arts from teachers or for short-term study exchanges.
