According to Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Net," Hong Kong's Chief Marine Police Inspector Lam Wan-yee came out of the funeral today (2 July), and the Hong Kong Police Force held her highest honor funeral, with Hong Kong SAR Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Commissioner of Police Siu Chak-yi, Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung, and many other senior Hong Kong government officials, as well as a number of police representatives present.

According to reports, the funeral ceremony was held at 9:30 a.m. today in the World Funeral Home In Hong Kong, followed by a police funeral outside the funeral home, followed by a road festival at the Headquarters of the Marine Police Boat Sub-district of the Shipyard Government Dockyard in Ang Chuan Chau, and then to the burial ceremony at Ho shek Ho Hor Yuen.
In the morning, Mrs Carrie Lam, Siu Tak Yee, Tang Ping-keung, Hong Kong Financial Secretary Chan Mo-po, Secretary for the Civil Service Nie Tak-kuen, Secretary for Justice Cheng Ruohua and other senior Hong Kong officials, as well as a number of Police representatives, were present.
In the middle of the hall, there are photographs of Lam Wan-yee in uniform, a plaque with the words "Forever Remembered", and flowers sent from all walks of life on both sides, including Leung Chun-ying, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Carrie Lam, chief executive, and Tang Ping-keung, secretary for security of Hong Kong.

On September 25, during the interception of suspected smuggling speedboats at Lung Kwu Beach in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong, Lam Wan-yee fell into the sea after being knocked over by a smuggling boat and disappeared, and her body was found two days later in the sea across from Er'ao. She was subsequently posthumously awarded the rank of Chief Inspector.
