Crystal features
First, let's consider the characteristics of crystals.
Since the crystal is cut by processing, it has multiple cross-sections. Therefore, it has the property that light enters from various surfaces and is diffusely reflected.
However, this time the theme is "How to Draw a Simple Crystal". Without giving me much thought, I introduced the complex motion of light.
An easy way to draw crystals
The tool used is Photoshop.
Make a crystal base
First, use the Lasso tool to create a crystal-shaped selection.
Use the Fill tool to create a crystal base and lock the layer with opaque protection. Applying opaque protection makes your job easier because you can only draw the base.
Crystal texture
I will show the texture of crystal transparency.
First, the cross-section is drawn using a brush whose opacity changes with pressure, which is also a feature of Photoshop.
Draw the cross-section of the crystal using white. The edges of the crystal and the edges of the cutting surface glow strongly, so the white is added more intensely.
Use dark colors to express the depth of the crystal. The thicker it is, the darker the color, because the light can't reach it, so I painted it in neutral colors. Familiarize yourself while maintaining contrast.

The cross-section is important to make it look like crystal. If you have difficulty imagining a cross-section, you should draw it using the image above.
Draw the edges of the crystal
So far in the painting method, the cutting surface has a vague impression. Make the edges of each side stand up so that they look like crystals.
Surround the cross-section with the Lasso tool and draw only the contours of the enclosed area with a soft spray gun to clarify the boundary line.

Draw the crystal effect
Use effect layers to add effects to make them look more like crystals
Draws an effect light with a soft brush
Use a soft spray gun to paint a color similar to crystal. Just touch it.
Most importantly, put in a small white light source.
Make the effect glow
Duplicate the layer of the drawing effect.
If you set the copied layer to Overlay, it will look glowing.
Also, paint the core of the crystal and let it shine.
Finally, draw the surrounding area so that the entire crystal glows.
