Zidane's unfulfilled dream (Marseille's coaching dream) The former Real Madrid coach has a regret for his brilliant career

After leaving Real Madrid, Zidane lived a very easy life, spending all his time playing cricket, although he frankly admitted that there was a frustration in his career that stemmed from a dream he did not achieve.

As a player, Zidane represents some really fantastic clubs – Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid – but there is a team he has never had the chance to play for.

"I'm from Marseille, I left at a very young age, I don't live here, but I come back from time to time and all I know is that I am Marseille is my dream," Zidane elaborated in an interview with Provence.

"It will be like this for the rest of my life.

"When I was younger, when I was 15 or 16 or 17, I was watching [Marseille] in the stands and I said to myself, one day, why not? But it didn't happen, it would be something strong. ”

Zidane had to console himself with his eventual career, although he did have the opportunity to play against Marseille, which left him with fond memories.

"That was at Marseille, when Beckenbauer was in charge of the club, we won 1-0 and it was a good memory," Zidane added.

"It gives me something to say about my win at Marseille but for me it's still great and if I go back to the pitch I'll remember it very clearly.

Zidane has previously been wary of the future of his coaching career and it's unclear what kind of job, if any, he's looking for.

Marseille is currently moving forward with Jorge Sampaoli, but it is clear from Zidane's words that he has a lot of reverence for the club and that it may tie him up to the job in the next vacancy.
