"The Dedication of Suspect X": Deep in love, you can really forget yourself

author:Literary Eagle

Detective mystery novels are one of many genres of fiction, and this type of novel is best in Japan. With the vigorous development of criminal investigation mystery novels in Japan, film and television dramas related to criminal investigation reasoning are also in the ascendant and have become an important part of film and television dramas. And "The Dedication of Suspect X", released in 2008, is a classic. This film is adapted from the original book "The Dedication of Suspect X" by the famous Japanese criminal mystery writer Keigo Higashino

In Japan, a large number of excellent criminal mystery novel writers have emerged, and Keigo Higashino is one of the most excellent among them, and is a master among contemporary criminal mystery novel writers. He has created a large number of excellent works, such as "Secret", "After School", "Murder by the Lake", "Fate", "Transformation", "The Dedication of Suspect X", "Letter" and so on. Among them, "The Dedication of Suspect X" was widely acclaimed as soon as it was launched, and it won the 134th Naoki Award, the 6th Benge Mystery Novel Award, and the first place in the list of the three most authoritative mystery novels in Japan that year.

The film "The Dedication of Suspect X" basically retains the original flavor of the novel and explains the theme of the novel to the fullest. Its whimsical imagination and meticulous reasoning are certainly convincing. But I have always felt that the most important thing in this film is to interpret an eternal theme of human beings, that is, love, and this should be what the original novel wants to tell us.

The protagonists of the film are the stone god who is called a genius but always alone, and Yasuko Hanaoka, who is beautiful but always has an unfortunate life. Yasuko Hanaoka has been harassed by her ex-husband, Shinji Fukenji, and kills Shinji Fuken in a conflict. So the stone god who loves Yasuko Hanaoka takes the initiative to help Yasuko Hanaoka's mother and daughter. The clever stone god came up with a plan to hide the sky and cross the sea, so that the police suspecting Yasuko Hanaoka remained outside the truth and could not move a single bit. The case of Yukawa, known as "Galileo", is due to the appearance of Yukawa, an old friend of the stone god, that has turned around. Yukawa's discovery of the truth stemmed from a very small oversight of the Stone God. Feeling that the case was about to be revealed, Shi Shen voluntarily surrendered to take all the blame for Yasuko Hanaoka. But it's far from over. Yukawa's meticulous reasoning restores a jaw-dropping truth, and finally fully explains the connotation of "dedication" in the title.

After watching the film, my mood could not be calmed for a long time, and I was immersed in the plot of the film for a long time. In the film, I once again felt the eternal charm and powerful power of love. I've always felt that this film is a romance film under the cover of criminal investigation reasoning. Or maybe I'm more inclined to think that this is a romance drama better than a criminal investigation reasoning drama. As the title of the film reveals, the "dedication" of the stone god allows us to witness the greatness of love again, so that we finally understand that in the depths of love, we can really forget ourselves.

"Dedication" is the core of this movie, in the movie, the connotation of "dedication" is that the stone god would rather commit a felony of murder for the sake of his loved ones, and dare to stand up at the last moment to take all the blame for his lover.

I don't want to dwell too much on the plot of the film, and I don't want to evaluate too much if the abandonment of love itself is right or wrong. In order to cover up Yasuko Hanaoka's crime, he did not hesitate to commit another murder case, and what he did was truly bizarre. But if everything is incorporated into the logic of love, then everything is not difficult to understand. Behind all the strange and appalling truths is the earth-shattering, singable and weeping love of the stone god. Love makes the stone god ignore the dignity of the law, but also trample on another life, it can be said that love makes the stone god give up everything, even including his own life and his lifelong love of mathematics. Geniuses like stone gods also have difficulty resisting the powerful power of love. Perhaps the highest state of love is that a person can give up everything, even his own life, for the sake of the person he loves. Perhaps the love in this film can be attributed to a passage on the cover of the original book: How much can you love someone? What kind of encounter can you give up your life without regret? The end of logic is not the ideal state of reason and order, but the love that I dedicate with my life. Indeed, the love of the stone god is the love of giving up one's life without remorse, that is, the love of giving one's life. Its love, tragic, touching, swinging intestines. Perhaps, in the real world, it has never been seen before.

The acquaintance of Ishijin and Yasuko Hanaoka was purely accidental, and after that, the life of Ishijin was completely changed. The appearance of Yasuko Hanaoka made the stone god, who was as cold as frost and rational to the point of almost ruthlessness, finally understand that there is another extremely wonderful thing in this world, that is, love. All along, the only love of the genius stone god has been mathematics. However, Yasuko Hanaoka eventually makes the stone god "empathize with each other". Love makes the life of the stone god begin to become colorful, so that ripples and tenderness emerge from his cold inner world. It is true that love does have this power to melt all hearts as hard as iron. In the Divine Eagle Hero TV series, when I see Li Moxuan still repeatedly chanting the sentence of Yuan Haoqing in the sea of fire, "Ask what is the world's love, and the Zhijiao people live and die together", I will always feel inexplicably moved. In the face of love, I believe that there are no evil bad people. However, Ishigo understands that he and Yasuko Hanaoka belong to two different worlds, and the greatest limit he can do every day is to meet each other when he goes to buy a bento in the morning, and this side may be the greatest happiness for Ishioka. Love is how easy it is to satisfy and revel. If it had not been for the fu jianshen second murder, perhaps the life trajectory of the two of them would always be two parallel lines. Therefore, when the murder occurred, the stone god also realized that this was the only chance he could get close to his beloved. I even thought that it was actually love that had overwhelmed the brain of the rational stone god, making him involved in the murder and unable to extricate himself. But we can't blame the stone god, because love itself is so wonderful and has indestructible power.

The stone god longs to connect himself to his loved ones forever through this murder. Love also makes Ishigami begin to become selfish, he has a strong desire for possession of the people he loves, so when he discovers that Yasuko Hanaoka is associated with other men, he is extremely bitter and jealous. Maybe no one wants to see their loved ones with other people. But I think that Ishigoku is great after all, and when he finally surrenders, he hopes that Yasuko Hanaoka can be with that man, because only that man can give Yasuko Hanaoka a happiness that he can't give. In fact, the happiness of the person you love is enough, why do you have to be with each other in the twilight? Having love in your heart is a kind of happiness in itself. But maybe only a great man like the stone god can do this, and is it beyond the reach of ordinary ordinary people?

Ishijin's seamless design ultimately couldn't escape the eyes of his old friend, and as I said earlier, Yukawa found that the truth stemmed from a tiny detail. Ishizu has never been trim and does not pay attention to his appearance, but after meeting Yukawa, Yukawa finds that his old friends have begun to pay attention to his appearance, so the keen Yukawa realizes that perhaps Ishizu has begun to fall in love, so Yukawa begins to gradually approach the truth, and eventually tears apart is the solid defense line of the Stone God. It may be ridiculous that love eventually betrayed the stone god, but it also shows that love can really make people in love decide to change themselves.

I think a "Dedication of Suspect X" really reveals the connotation of love from all aspects, such as love can make a person forget himself, love can melt all the hard as iron inner world, love can make a person selfish and can also make a person great, love makes a person work hard to become better.... I don't want to say more, maybe only people who have truly tasted love can really understand and see through this film. The charm of this film also lies in its ability to make people who watch it constantly reminisce and confirm the love in the real world.
