Meizhou Jiaoling: Chen Weiming led a team to deeply commemorate the martyrs of the "Eight Hundred Heroes" and visit the son of the martyr Xie Jinyuan

Recently, Chen Weiming, secretary of the Jiaoling County CPC Committee and secretary of the Party Committee of the Jiaohua Industrial Park in Meizhou, Guangdong Province, led a team to visit the Shanghai Sihang Warehouse Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall to deeply commemorate the heroes and martyrs of the "Eight Hundred Heroes" represented by Xie Jinyuan. Through the on-site visit, we further felt the deeds of General Xie Jinyuan and the tragic and magnificent history of treating death as a homecoming and martyrdom.

It is understood that the memorial hall takes the "Sihang Warehouse Defense Battle" as the basic display, displaying the touching deeds of the heroic resistance war under the banner of the anti-Japanese national united front and the all-round war of resistance, in the late stage of the August 133 Songhu War of Resistance in 1937, more than 420 officers and men of the 1st Battalion of the 524th Regiment of the 262nd Brigade of the 88th Division of the Chinese Army (known to the outside world as "Eight Hundred Heroes" were ordered to stick to the Sixing Warehouse, reproducing the image of the heroic group of "Eight Hundred Heroes" represented by Xie Jinyuan.

Before the visit, Chen Weiming and his entourage specially went to the home of Xie Jimin, the son of the martyr Xie Jinyuan, to pay respects and listen carefully to Mr. Xie Jimin's description of the battle situation in which General Xie Jinyuan had led officers and men to hold the Sihang Warehouse on the north bank of the Suzhou River and fought alone for four days and nights. Chen Weiming and his entourage paid tribute and thanks to the great sacrifices and important contributions made by the heroic martyrs of the ancestors for the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and sincerely invited Mr. Xie Jimin to return to his hometown to participate in the farmers' harvest festival activities and speak for his hometown.
