On April 8, the artificial reef launching ceremony of the national marine ranch was held in the waters of Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya.

Luo Qingming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Hainan University, said that the field of marine science and technology is one of the seven disciplines of Hainan University's key construction, and wuzhizhou island marine ranch is a typical example of Hainan University's national strategy and Hainan's local economic and social development in the field of marine science and technology, and is Hainan's first national marine ranch demonstration area. In the past 11 years of cooperation between the two sides, Hainan University has continuously deepened the scientific research and technological innovation of modern marine ranches, formed a professional teaching team, and used Wuzhizhou Island Marine Ranch as an important platform to truly realize the "writing of papers on the sea".

The launch of the artificial reef further strengthens the function of wuzhizhou island marine ranch, Hainan University will continue to strengthen school-enterprise cooperation, give full play to the advantages of talent, scientific research, technology and so on, continue to promote the scientific research and development of marine ranching, and continue to make the wuzhizhou island marine ranch brand bigger and better.

After the ceremony, Hainan University and Hainan Wuzhizhou Tourism Development Co., Ltd. held a symposium on school-enterprise cooperation, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as marine science and technology innovation and ecological civilization construction.

It is reported that the Wuzhizhou Island Marine Ranch Project, guided by the team of Professor Wang Aimin of Hainan University, is the first tropical marine ranch project in China, and won the title of the fifth batch of national marine ranch demonstration areas in 2019. After the ceremony, Wuzhizhou Island Marine Ranch will complete the release of 870 artificial reefs within a month, reaching more than 30,000 empty cubes. (Wen Caifei Xu Jincao)
