China's sea area is vast, there are many islands, with good natural sea ecological environment conditions and rich aquatic biological resources. In recent years, in order to achieve the protection and sustainable use of marine living resources, China has planned a national marine ranch demonstration area. Among them, the Zhuhai Wailingling Sea Area National Marine Ranch Demonstration Zone is on the list.
It is understood that in recent years, in order to protect and restore the marine ecological environment, Zhuhai has built and cultivated marine pastures in the Wanshan Sea through delineating a red line for the prohibition of fishing, setting up a fishery no-fishing area, releasing artificial reefs, increasing breeding and stocking, and has built six artificial reef reef areas.
At present, Zhuhai will continue to promote the construction of a national marine ranch demonstration area, and will build a new artificial reef area in the Wailingling Sea, with an estimated total investment of about 25 million yuan. The project built 1156 reefs, including component reefs, frame steel mix multi-functional bait reefs, and trapezoidal frame steel mixed algae reefs. At the same time, the construction of relevant supporting facilities and the planting of 6.25 hectares of seaweed farms will be carried out.
Artificial reefs are artificial structures set up in the sea, the purpose of which is to improve the ecological environment of the sea area, create a good environment for marine life to inhabit, provide breeding, growth, bait and shelter for fish, etc., to achieve the purpose of protection, breeding and improving catches.
