Brisk melodies come in waves

A group of girls in beautiful swimsuits

Dance in the blue waves

They were in a neat row

Doing one after another

Difficult lifting and churning

Between arms and toes alternate flexibly

The atmosphere was pushed to a climax

……

This is the scene of the 2021 Guangdong Provincial Junior Synchronized Swimming Championships, and Wu Zixuan, a young player from the Guangzhou Synchronized Swimming Team, performed well in the competition and won the first place in the Group A lift with his teammates.

A wonderful performance made her fascinated by "flower swimming"

After nearly eight years of entering the Guangzhou Synchronized Swimming Team, Wu Zixuan can be regarded as a "flower swimming veteran" in the youth group. From the age of 5, she began to learn swimming, land ballet and yoga, laying a solid foundation for learning synchronized swimming in the future.

How did you get involved with "flower swimming" in the first place? Wu Zixuan said that when she was 6 years old, her parents took her to watch a synchronized swimming performance. She recalls: "I saw those sisters like mermaids dancing on the water, and I was deeply attracted. I thought, they're so beautiful, and I want to be like them. ”

With the support of her parents, Wu Zixuan was selected to enter the Guangzhou Synchronized Swimming Team to participate in training. At a young age, she was full of curiosity about synchronized swimming, looking at the flowers and applause harvested by the seniors on the podium, she felt a special sense of pride and honor, so she also made up her mind to embark on the dream road of synchronized swimming.

Train 5 times a week for two or three hours each

Known as "water ballet", synchronized swimming is a water competition that incorporates dance and music, consisting of swimming, skill, dance and music choreography. Athletes should maintain their balance by paddling, holding their breath, and treading water, while completing multiple sets of difficult actions such as pushing, rotating, and bending. Elegant movements, confident expressions... Behind the underwater dance is hard training day after day, year after year.

Since joining the team, no matter the heat and cold, wind and sun, Wu Zixuan will insist on going to the swimming pool for synchronized swimming training.

"Train 5 times a week for 2 to 3 hours each time, and in the winter and summer vacations, it is basically a full-day training." Wu Zixuan said. The new movements and difficult movements taught by the coach will be practiced repeatedly and strive for excellence. In addition to water training, she also conducts land training, including strength training, dance lessons, and self-selected imitations.

Daily training is very hard and boring, sometimes the intensity of training during the day, and when you sleep at night, your legs will twitch and hurt.

"Although I feel tired sometimes, I don't give up easily." Wu Zixuan said. After nearly 8 years of training, this little girl not only gained medals, but also gained confidence and a strong heart, "When I thought that there were many important competitions that I did not participate in, I felt that no matter how hard I had to grit my teeth and persevere." ”

While insisting on training in the wind and rain, Wu Zixuan did not relax in the slightest about his studies. After each day's training, she will grasp the completion of the homework, so that learning and training are not wrong.

Talking about the next goal, Wu Zixuan said that she is preparing for next year's provincial games and "hopes to get a good result." In the future learning and synchronized swimming, she will continue to maintain strong perseverance and hard work, strive for better results, and show her style on a bigger and higher stage.
